Hit & Run - busted by Bootlegger and his Babe

A first hand true story.
About a week ago in the Valley my girlfriend and I came upon a bike accident at an intersection to our left. About 3 cars stopped with people out pacing a bit frantic on cells and rider face up but not moving on the street.
Suddenly a woman jumps in a Scion (she appeared to be the car that hit the rider as she had a large dent in the front) and peels-out with people screaming at her while the attempt to chase her down.
At that moment the light turns green for us and I began chasing her. I didn't want to cause another accident so I tried to take it easy but the asshole was blazing around corners trying to shake us loose. She ripped through a parking lot and for that moment lost us as I was unable to safely cut around oncoming traffic.
At this point I continued straight hoping to following her via a nearby intersection (Magnolia & Coldwater). 10 seconds later while waiting for the light we are face to face with "perp" (ha ha) but she doesn't recognize us and so while we are all waiting for individual lanes to clean up, my girlfriend is able to clearly take down her plate numbers.
Too confusing to explain but we had to go through our green light - we pulled a u-turn and followed her once again. Lagging a bit behind she thought once again that she'd lost us but not before we clearly saw her pull into what appeared to be her apt. building (she had a gate opening to enter and park).
On the phone with 911 most of the pursuit we then took down her address and returned to accident scene and gave our reports to the officers.
About 45 min. later when we drove past her address (going to Whole Foods) we saw policia parked out front. I assume that for once - justice was served.
I was told by the drivers at the scene that she had struck him as he in front of her Scion while he had the right of way. The light was red but might have done a rolling stop.
The rider was unconscious for several minutes (had a helmet) but didn't appear to be bleeding.
In total there were about 7 witnesses.
While the rider lay unconscious, I was told she said something like, "Aww, what's the big deal - he's aright."

I think one of my first thoughts was to do just that - post her info here.
At least two witnesses said she appeared to be under the influence of some substance - mabye tweakin.
Right before we did a u-turn and drove right past her driver side window (basically face-to-face) my girlfriends yells,
"YOU'RE FUCKIN' DEAD BITCH!!!"
heh, shit was funny but I was like, "Whoa, I thought we was undercover yo?!"

I would also suggest people stop chasing after cars, that they think are in the wrong or did something to threaten you. I would get the licence plate and go from there. There is way to find out where the car is located and you can go from there. How to get this info, I don't know, but I'm sure somebody here does. It is crazy to chase after a car while on a bike, if you catch the car, then what are you going to do?
Start collecting licence plates and then you can...................................

I'm not referring to the above story, I'm talking about getting cut off or someone coming close to you and blowing there horns at you.
If they hit someone that is a different story, you should go after them.

just remember, a license plate num is not enough you need at least a rudimentary description of the driver too.. otherwise they cops will throw it out as you cannot prove one way or another who was driving and the driver can just deny it...

Pretty important point Fuzzbeast. Unless you can describe the driver, all the owner of the car has to do is deny everything and there is nothing that can be done. Sad but true. So get a description of the driver.

Yea.
Justice into your own hands and all.
There are a couple plate numbers that are getting u-locks in the windows if I see them parked anywhere.
I'm just saying...
It's true though, not worth engaging with a car/driver.
Too much mass and force there.
It's a damn weapon.

I didn't get the 'Anarchist' comment. I'm not an Anarchist. I took down her plate number - followed her to her residence - wrote down her address - returned to the scene of the accident - gave a report to an officer.

We were pretty much face-to-face with the H&R driver. We give a full description to the police as did several other witnesses who actually were conversing with her when everyone initially got out of their cars.
I'd say this person is pretty much going to experience some definite repercussions from her actions.
