Same shit happens here in LA when there are rides and people leave thrash all over the place, cause excessive noise, block streets, and generally act like they own everything. Serves you guys fucking right! If Tomatoes Puree was alive, he would be the last person to leave making sure no thrash was left behind. That was his sanctuary and don't you people forget it. Respect the place and respect the streets of LA too. Motherfuckers are slipping....
Agreed, hitchhikers camp seems out of the picture completely, if not the entire surrounding area- if we are smart. I'm still not sure if we're smart yet, it's confusing.
Just please let there be HOT SPRINGS! Nothin better....

as with Burning Man we will really need to figure out a way to control our selves and respect the land and it's inhabitants... no one wants to be the person barking at people. how can we keep ourselves in check?
one thing for sure. We need to stay the fuck away from salvation mountain and NOT use that road for entrance...
impossible without actual consequences or a damn dumpster.
people are always going to be lazy and leave a can, assholes are going to ditch trash, and 100 people doing that all at once leads to a big ass mess. it was really disheartening last year.
it's an issue of maturity, responsibility, and accountability, but i have no idea how to fix all three.
Although the mess was overwhelming, it was nice to see some of us clean up on Monday. That's one fix: a bigger group of people to help mean on Monday. Some people may argue that it's not our responsibility to clean up after other people. However, I'm personally willing to stay until Monday night if that means we leave NO trace.

It’s not just about the trash left behind. Many other issues like the noise and other bullshit that is NOT WELCOMED by the locals. They have voiced their opinion on our group openly. Find the old thread and the bullshit that went on and kill this one. I sincerely hope you leave them alone and find another piece of land to have your rave. Ravers have been going there for YEARS without any big issues and yet it takes MR only 2 years to fuck it up. I am very sad that a lot of people still don’t know what the fuck is going on.

I heard on swaggle that the Tren Way Homeland Security Liaison picked out a new spot for Salton Sea and even threw in some shitty E pills they confiscated from the last rave. I guess the new place is cool as long as no one plays any American dubstep - the locals hate that bro-step testosterone wobble, they like their bass to have that 08-UK sound to it.
We knew that 2010 put us on the shit list for 2011.
We tried to affect cultural change and steer the group in a better direction.
Dak was very clear and had all the key issues laid out.

Translated, that means 'EPIC FUCKING FAIL'.
Now Kevin has some suggestions for us based on complaints that he'd collected from Leonard and their neighbors. I'd love to hear them, but I'm afraid it would be for naught. I'd love to think that cultural change is still possible, but I'm always getting my tit in a wringer for having too much faith in the human condition. ...and our track record doesn't paint too awesome of a picture.

With the move of Salvation Mountain’s creator to a full-time care facility and the recent death of his caretaker this week, the fate of the Valley’s most famous folk art relic is undetermined.
After living for decades in the desert, feet away from his work, Leonard Knight, 80, was moved to the Eldorado Care Center in El Cajon last week. The decision was made by Knight after his dementia grew worse, according to an interview earlier this week with Kevin Eubanks — Knight’s caretaker — days before Eubanks died. Eubanks’ body was found in his home in Niland on Wednesday morning, according to the Imperial County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death is unconfirmed pending notification of Eubanks’ next of kin.
According to a video posted Tuesday morning on Salvation Mountain’s Facebook page, Eubanks states that “there is an organization called Spaces” interested in helping to keep the mountain for the future.”
But whether an organization is looking into caring for the mountain wasn’t confirmed by Drew Callahan, the legal counsel of Knight.
“We are working on a plan,” said Callahan. “My role is to ensure that Leonard’s art work and legacy is protected in the future,” he said. That would mean that the mountain remains unchanged and that nothing is removed from the installation, Callahan said.
Though Knight is now living away from the mountain, he is still the owner of the installation and in charge of it, said Callahan. Knight may be the owner of Salvation Mountain, but he isn’t the owner of the land. In fact, not even the state knows who owns the land where the mountain stands.
According to documentation from the county Assessor’s Office, the land is owned by the California State Lands Commission. “We are not definitely sure at this point” said Brian Bruce, California State Lands Commission’s chief of Land Management Division when asked about the property. The commission “perhaps” own parts of the land, he said.
“We don’t know what the boundaries on the ground are,” said Colin Connor, assistant chief of the Land Management Division. There are other owners neighboring the area, he said, and the mountain could be located in between boundaries.
“We would need to send a survey crew to find out,” he said. But the state’s budget is thin, Connor said, so the state’s involvement is not expected.
In the meantime Slab City residents are stepping up to take care of the mountain, according to Mike Phippen.
Phippen for the past nine months joined Eubanks in taking care of the mountain and Knight.
Some residents in the Slabs are also considering creating a board to provide security and preserve the mountain, he said. Meanwhile Callahan is looking for options on what to do with the mountain and will present those options to Knight, Phippen said.
How everything will develop is still unclear, he said, but he does know that Knight doesn’t want an admission to be charged to see the mountain and doesn’t want a religious group or any other particular group to make it their own.

Regardless of where the "not ridazzcamp" line points or doesn't point (upon further investigation I too have no idea who was at not ridazzcamp), my main talking point still stands: ridazz are in the green and CLEAR for the next YEAR!

The place we used to camp is better known as Hitch Hikers Camp to those in the Slabs.
They have a New Years celebration tradition of hitch hikers that camp there every year.
That's how I first heard about the spot.
S.A.L.T. are more crussy than any of you.
I hope Salvation Mountain endures all the changes. It won't be the same without Leonard there. I hope the right people step in and do the right thing to preserve it.
Slab City is probably the few of the rare truly free spaces that exist in this country, if any. Don't burn the spot by turning it into another burning man. Keep the mystery. Respect the locals. Embrace the future of the apocalypse.

there are a lot of problems with this statement but in the interest of remaining positive I will say only this- I have seen the future, and it is about 25 miles south east of slab city- los angelopes are finding new pastures to graze in...
