Woulda been cool to get a roids-ripped roadie with 100 speed cassette and see what top MPH they could reach behind the truck, if the truck very slowly accelerated.
37mph on Lincoln Blvd heading south from Ocean Park drafting shiznitologist's Scion xB.on the way home from Craft Club = FUN
I would like to try drafting his box shaped car on a road bike or just with a different gear ratio, I bet it would be easy to hit 45-50 if not higher with some gears or a higher ratio, respectively.
Actually a cop pulled up to my left while I was still drafting him as we passed Rose. I had to slow down to talk to him but I was doing 25 effortlessly and was easily able to have a conversation with him.
He said with a hairy eyeball "What the hell are you doing?"
I said "Just drafting my friend on my way home"
He said "Ooookkk... Be safe"
I said "OK bye"
That part of Lincoln is slightly downhill so that made it a bit easier to get up to 37, but honestly the hardest part was focusing on keeping my cadence up. I feel like I could easily hit 30-35 again on a slight uphill drafting a car. Would be hella easier with gears though.
