I didn't, and ended up in the hospital, and then had this awful awful picture taken of me.
This is why you haven't seen me on a bike for a month and won't for another few weeks.

happened uhh... first or second weekend of may I think. I dunno. it was a saturday night.
went into the hospital like 4 am sat night, got out tuesday evening. been out like 3 weeks now, maybe 4.
healing up, not feeling too shitty anymore, but still not allowed to ride.
SUCKS! thanks for the well wishes guys.
Also you are free to lol at that terrible picture of me and the therapy dog.

Trying to avoid a parked car, I ended up crashing into a wall I didn't realize was there until it was too late.
Front wheel hit it first and I went over the bars headfirst into the wall.
3 skull fractures, 2 subdural hematomas and probably a broken rib.
NOT fun.

yeah i just had to wear one for a week on the ALC. and now i feel naked, fleshly and human without it on my head when i ride. also, i saw people get fucccckkkeedd up on the ALC and they were wearing a helmet! like sliding down hills at 25+ mph on their head and face. so wear em if you got em! i'm gonna try and keep mine on. <3 <3 <3

my sister was with me at my graduation yesterday. she was walking about without needing any assistance. less than 2 months ago she was hit by the MUNI bus in SF while on her commute home from work. so even though now she's aided by her new titanium body parts, she was wearing her helmet that day. i personally have no choice but to follow suit.

My helmet. I got to take a little nap in the street and visit those nice people in the ER, but my skull was intact.

Damn that's a big impact! We're getting lucky with the people that are going down are wearing helmets. This should be convincing enough for people that aren't wearing one.

I use to hate wearing helmets. So I had my helmet custom painted to not feel so geeky.

omg i'm so sorry but you're lucky you survived- that sound intense! man i feel so sad- hope you can ride soon.
going to sound like a broken record...- DON'T WAIT FOR SHIT LIKE THIS TO GO DOWN BEFORE YOU WEAR YOUR HELMET! I did, he did and we're both lucky to still be around.
learn from us and just wear them. most of us do already, so you're not going to look dorky- get over it and be safe!
