Met my neighbor of 7 years for the 1st time.

I've lived in a huge apartment building for 7 years with a whole bunch of other people. Most of my neighbors are elderly koreans who speak little English.
Last night as I was pulling out my deflated wheel from my bike, one of my neighbors comes up, a short elderly woman in her 80s from Korea. She shook her head in understanding in my frustration.
We somehow started talking in broken sentences, attempting to communicate in broken English.
She tells me that she was on Korea's cross country woman's team. She rode from, I think, Seoul to the Border and back. That they would pack lunches and would love riding in the spring when nature was blooming.
She later invited me to share all her photos. I will soon take her up on her offer.
Cereally guys. talk to your neighbors and say hi to random people on the street. Just smile. you never know what you might learn.

Dope. There isn't one day that I don't have a random conversation with a random person. That's what I like about the city.

Most of the convo's start with, "There aren't any brakes on your bike, how do you brake?"
No joke. : |

You're a replicant, Junu.
Your past, present and future have all been pre-determined as a way to give you a false sense of being a carbon-based, unit.
However, you are a unique type among your kind, so you will not be liquidated as such.
Now, back to watching old, 80's horror movies on that one site.

Considering all the time we spend constructing social environments on the street with bicycles, it's humbling to be reminded of how many neglected social connections exist all around us. It might be easy to ignore your neighbors, but it can be just as easy to make friends with them.

I think it's an LA thing.
I lived in a bunch of different apartments in NYC, and within a week or two I knew everyone in the building, what they did for work, who there friends were, exc..
When I moved to LA, I would try and talk to folks at the mailboxes in my building and most of the time they would ignore me. I lived in that building for 3 years and never learned one name.

How do I say in a conciliatory and kind way that I have a boner? This question has come up at various points in my life.
I would not ask you this question now, but what if the right circumstances, combined with a glass of Welches Cranberry Grape juice, and a whole bunch of people praying quietly around me, all came together in an instant?
I will tell you what I would do.
1. I would go out and find the first up-to-date copy of the "Motorcycle Trader."
2. I would use my coffee grinder to reduce Hatch red chiles to a fine powder.
4. I would make some good food.
3. I would try not to pee.
okay?

Awesome story!
Yeah I don't know what it is about the west coast life, but I'm gulty of it too. I don't know one person that lives in my hood. There's a firestation next door to me, and those guys stick to themselves. A Mexican appartment complex on the other side, and they stick to themselves. I've lived here for over 15 yrs and I don't know one person on this block!
