What the heck happened at crank mob? I left for 10min and when I got back people said the cops showed up and everyone left. I followed them for a bit because I thought they knew where everyone went but wasn't entirely sure, so I just split off and headed back home to downtown....

Right when the first group got to ralphs in la brea. Some kid stole some shit and ran out but got stopped. Then cops came and divided most of us up by not letting us pass the intersection. Some went down 3rd when cops broke it up but most just ended up going towards Hollywood. Cops followed us until we left the fairfax area.
Then when we got to rite aid over at Vermont and Hollywood cops came out and camped it by us with a helicopter.

While I was riding back I saw a helicopter with it's light circling around, so I went to where it was circling and found cops and an ambulance but no riders... I wonder if that was the same helicopter...

That's me in cuffs. I'm in cuffs because I was photographing a rider being cuffed and searched because LAPD pulled him off his bike. He was issued a citation for not having a bike license and for not having a current address on his drivers license.

The helicopter moved over to a synagogue on La Brea, near Pinks. Also, a dozen cars. That may be why they left the PPP party alone.

I fucking lost my bag with my phone, wallet, and shoes to this damn episode.
I helped apprehend that stupid kid at Ralphs and by the time I got back to my spot where my bag was people were scurrying and the cops were not looking happy.
Anyone seen a camel back back at that Ralphs on 3rd and La Brea?

Yeah, AT I was there.
That is the best shot I got too. The other three were blurred. Shooting without a flash with my cheap 10 mg Kodak digital
The cops told me that they deployed in force because someone got hurt.

What a bummer. We've definitely decided that CRANK Mob is really awesome for a few hours, and then there comes a certain point where it stops being fun. Usually, that time comes when the underage kids are finally too drunk to ride, there starts to be ridazz-on-carzz aggression, or any kind of violence. Last night, it was when the cops showed up, though that was probably due to one of the aforementioned reasons for CRANK Mob not being fun. I kind of wish the kids who can't handle this kind of evening would stop coming on the rides. Don't their parents wonder where they are?

Gut abatement is required!!
This is ridiculous, I'm gonna be at the police commission on Tuesday, and the Transportation Committee on Wednesday. The names Officer Winter and Officer Schube will exit my mouth at least 5 times on each day, and they will be followed by a description of complete idiocy that is ticketing people for "no bike license", "address not current on drivers license", and "crossing against a flashing red hand". Names --> MUD.

When's the Long Beach ride Shues?
I've got a buddy in Long Beach that's always telling me about this mysterious and scary "midget town", around there that could be a fun basis for a ride.

Well, listening to Mohicano's loss, we should all remember to keep our valuables with us at all times.
Now not only to keep it from getting jacked, but to also be ready to remobilize should a swarm of resistance(cops) come swarming through the entrenchment(parking lot).
