I requested some officers to escort you into Santa Monica...but I have not yet received an answer. I provided contact info and they may contact her directly.
While I can not promise we will be there I will make every effort to get some of our folks out there.

The police did really well and were actually kinda cool. It was the first ride I had ever been on where the police corked so fluidly and were so cooperative. The didn't break up the ride and they didn't make any moves that were dangerous toward the cyclists.

The funny thing people noticed about having the police cork every intersection was that we moved REALLY fast, maybe too fast. Since we never had to stop if you were a slow rider, or had a problem, or had to stop to take a quick phone call or whatever you were dropped and on your own. If you fell behind one corked light then it's nigh impossible to catch up because the ride never has to stop or slow. I stopped to change batteries on my sound system at Lincoln and the 90 Fwy... caught the lights at Washington and Venice on Lincoln... didn't get to the ride again till Pico and Ocean. I guess I'm just slow at changing batteries ;)
That being said it was a great ride, thanks all who came out! Thanks to the police for the friendly escort!

Hey guys..if I may suggest:
If you want to reinforce the "good" behavior you observed I hightly recommend that you complete this form and send it to Pacific Station or get it to me.

This is a commendation form and lets the officer know that you appreciate thier efforts. If you do not know the officers name you can say Officers assigned to assist cyclists on 9/25.
Try to be specific like "The officers were polite and approachable, professional and demonstrated a genuine interest in serving" Comment on their demeanor and tone as well.
Usually officers hear very derogatory comments but rarely get a thank you. It would mean a lot to them and go a long way to showing that cyclist/officer relations can be positive rather than adversarial.

this was a fun but those pigs drivning 70mph next to us was fuckin scray. I saw rida crossin venice. the pigs are one acident away for killin some body.
