i don't mean brandon, or mikey or any of those dudes who do tricks at stops to amuse people but know not to do it where someone will get hurt.
i mean those people, and specifically one person that ive seen on rides lately that are just showing off in traffic to cars/girls/guys/dogs/whatever and start popping wheelies when 30-40-500 people are behind them trying to get through mounds of cars and cause others to fall and hurt themselves.
do you have any common sense? apparently not, im sure people are down to see your wheelies, but not when you're risking someone elses life.
ive seen multiple people fall because of this one specific guy and it needs to stop. ive definitely crashed into someone, thankfully no one was hurt/fell off their bike because of having to ram on the brakes because wheelie unchampion over here pops a wheelie and causes others to fucking flee. and go straight into me
i stay the fuck way, but apparently it isn't enough, i know i may not be the best rider ever, but at least im not going out of my way to endanger someone elses life.

This probably ain't the same person because it was quite some time ago but on my first MR ride a guy was jumping on and off the curb at the start of the ride. On a high speed section dropping down Sunset he jumped back into the street right into some guy's rear wheel. Thankfully the end result was just a tacoed rim, no one was hurt.

if i had a mtn bike, i would probably be bunnyhopping off curbs and doing stupid shit too. riding off road bikes on the street would get boring after while.
If you see someone going nuts and doing wheelies and other fancy shit in the middle of bike traffic, just move away from him/her as soon as possible. That's all you can do.
Eventually that person WILL eat shit and take people out with them.
Yea this dude is really aggro 95% of the time, too. Stopped at a red light on La Cienega on one of the recent West-Goes-East friday rides and everyone was in the right lane but him... Everyone just kind of in awe as he flipped his shit on a bus driver for pulling up to the red light... People said "hey man, it's ok just get over to the right, no biggie..." at no avail.
I always keep my distance cause I've heard he causes crashes, but occasionally I will just be riding along and then all of a sudden there is a dude doing a wheelie pushing his way in between me and the person I'm talking to next to me.
I can deal with the aggro nature but I agree the wheelies in the middle of a bunch of riders or up the middle of two riders side by side have to stop.
Borfo, hes taken out like 10 people already, and most of us know immediately when we see him to get the fuck away, but a lot of times it isnt enough. people have gotten seriously injured because of this guy and as much as we tell him to calm down on the wheelies etc, he just laughs, its a bad situation.

that cat split myself and another rider about a month ago while doing a wheelie. i had to do a double take because i wasn't sure what i was seeing. i told him to go do that somewhere else and he sped off on one wheel. it was a rather odd douchebag move. i heard he wrecked that night too.

We were coming up this train-crossing where a train was also going by.
This fool continued his wheelie, got in front of me and fell backwards onto my handlebars with mouf wide open.

He ended staying away from me the rest of the night, but some shits never learn.

Its not that I'm "nonconfrontational" once you get to know me you will understand that.
But for all the boo boo heads I think it could work pretty good.
There's just super embarrassing things that people need to know that other people just flat out cant say, like smelling bad or shitting your pants.

Some dude at crank mob the other night threw his forty while riding with the pack, so I started SCREAMING at him to "Go home mother fucker, nobody wants you here, leave" of course he said fuck you or flipped me off but I know for a fact that got to him. When someone tells you to "leave" and that "no one wants you here" thats going to get to you no matter how hard of a front you put up, deep down inside of your overflowing ego its going to hit a soft spot and make you feel like shit.
I'm pretty sure if there was a reason for me to get singled out there would be a lashing out (not in my favor), and I would be the one in the hospital bed paying medical bills.

I think the best way would be for a group of people maybe 3 or 4, to take him aside at a a stop and actually have a conversation with him. Its easy for him to brush off a comment made while riding. He just rides away. But if we confront the guy at a stop and start an actual conversation maybe he will listen.

hey guys, i think everyone's point has been made. just remember, this guy may not be all that bad. go talk to him. i'm not saying confront him about the wheelies, just go up and chat with the guy. get to know him. you might like him. he might listen to you. i've made the same mistake with a few people i've met on rides over the years. they rubbed me the wrong way, or there was some sort of conflict early on, and i had it in my head how i couldn't stand them. once i put that shit aside and sat down and got to know them, they turned out to be great people.

i'm sorry that your brother died but it doesn't take a car to kill someone. you could cause someone to swerve, fall and break their neck. the bmx jerks are the main reason i don't like big rides like crank mob as much because i have to ride defensively- and to clarify, the ones that are doing tricks in and around us while we're riding- even shues got really hurt (granted not by a bmx rider, but still one that was being a careless rider). it's just not fair to others and if we want to keep this community safe and fun, there has to be a certain amount of respect for others in our riding habits.

exactly my point KiMS1. I mean how many of you can you honestly say that everyone you hang with in a clique is really your friend? I mean i have my loyal friends i hang with on or off the bike on or outside of a ride and i am loyal to them like they are me. And that is what the HMW's intend to be. a group of friends, not a clique. that and the also the principles stated by me and KiMS1 (back to the basics). that's why we are taking our time in organizing.

Yea this dude is really aggro 95% of the time, too. Stopped at a red light on La Cienega on one of the recent West-Goes-East friday rides and everyone was in the right lane but him... Everyone just kind of in awe as he flipped his shit on a bus driver for pulling up to the red light... People said "hey man, it's ok just get over to the right, no biggie..." at no avail.
