ey so im tired of all the hatin around here u all bitching & hatin on my homies that r just tryin 2 make it in this world. so lets talk about sumthing else ok guyz cool.
ey so 1 of my favorite artisanal fragrances is tam dao by diptyque, it is a very woodsy scent with a cedary topnote that begins 2 settle down in2 a sweeter almost green range after about an hour. some ppl say that it almost has a gasoline note at that point, well i can c what they mean but i dont find it unpleasant, its really just the way the green (cypress) note plays off the ambergris & sandalwood. so ya anywayz the drydown to me is still kinda cedar-y at least thats what ppl tell me. this is 1 of the few fragrances i can see myself wearing all year.
tam dao only comes as an eau de toilette but i find the lasting power 2 be surprisingly good even after a long ass bike ride on the sidewalk. ey dont laff that shit is harder than it looks. unfortunately i dont kno if anybody sells this shit in la, i picked mine up at aedes de venustas in new york when i went there w/ u bitch ass clownz. to new york i mean, not to aedes de venustas, u fucken haters couldnt handle that place hahahahahaha.
so tell me wat fragrance u guyz like, im personally more innerested in niche-y type stuff but its all inneresting. all right u little winers ill talk to u later ok take care

ok so heres another 1 i picked up in ny. messe de minuit by etro.
now if u read the perfume blogs ppl always be describing this 1 as "gothic" which is what attracted me 2 it. but honestly i cant say that this is an accurate description of this fragrance altho i can c why ppl would say this. it definitely has an inneresting musty top note and combined w/ the strong incense base note it will put u in mind of church (the name means midnight mass in french). actually the first time i ever sampled this shit at aedes de venustas a couple years ago it reminded me of that musty smell u get when u head down into the subway in nyc, but minus the petroleum. the smell of old wood & moisture & heat. it actually dries down kinda sweet, the musty note fades and the incense and sumthing that i can only describe as being like gum arabic cums 2 the fore. at that point anything truly gothic about it is gone, if anything the feeling is 1 of turn of the century art nouveau ornateness. florid but not floral if that makes any sense.
ya so anywayz if u read the blogs ppl be saying that this fragrance is inneresting but (to them) unwearable. well i find this shit totally fucken wearable but u have 2 be in the rite mood. this is the kind of niche fragrance that kinda tests ur dedication, it will never in a million years get u laid but its perfect for walking around on a cold foggy nite like quasimodo n shit, not having 2 deal w/ people and just be alone in the nite.
oh and its an eau de cologne but believe me u will not have 2 worry about underapplying. ok so there u go, hit me back hipsters

I wrote a whole description earlier, then got distracted and lost it, so no description from me.
1. Best deodorant= backing soda + water (aluminum free and totally works unlike all the crap they sell in the natural section of stores)
2. for girls= Egyptian musk oil (oils are a condensed form of the perfume itself and found at some rasta shop in the valley. cheap and perfectly discrete smelling)
3. for boys= commes des garcon. (not cheap, in fact it is so fancy that I have never even found it in stores, but also not at all in your face!- smell kind of like incense)

naw i was just pointing out that comme des garcons is a manufacturer not a scent. they put out a lotta different scents & the 1s that i have sampled are all pretty interesting but like i say very diverse. so u cant just say comme des garcons u gotta be more specific ya? i have actually sampled a few of the incense series & to be honest none of them lil fuckers screamed take me home. i think i liked kyoto the best but it was a couple years ago.
p.s. i coulda swore i just read that 1 of them shady ass perfume shops in the garment district actually carries some cdg scents

Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea Lotus
It mainly consists of Ume Plum, Cherry Blossom, Mandarin but it also has mild fragrance extracts of Lotus, Green Tea, Osmanthus and Jasmine Tea. It has a very fresh feeling to it. Musks and White Birch. I always carry the smaller version in my bag to have touch ups whenever I need them or if I happen to showers in other peoples homes.

I ride a bike A LOT.

On other guys, I'm a big fan of au natural, as long as it's clean (healthy, clean sweat is fine, if not a bonus), and not something that smells like an unwiped ass.
Pheromones are a great thing, something many people in our culture aren't all that attuned to any more, people cover themselves in oils and flower bits and whatever so much that a lot of people can't even tell what a human is supposed to smell like any more.
Sweat smells good, it's loaded with things that trigger all kinds of reactions in another person. Now, dead bacteria in OLD sweat can get kind of stinky (aka why armpits and feet get stinky, it hs to do with bacteria buildup), however, if a person's diet (the biggest factor in how a person, or any animal smells) isn't that great, mainly a lot of animal flesh (other animal products like eggs and cheese and things don't seem to make as much difference), it can make a person pretty foul pretty quickly.
I've never been a big fan of people covered in perfumes, partly because I'm allergic to certain common fragrance oils, and partly because I have a fairly sensitive nose, and can tell certain things about people by how they smell, I prefer people who smell like people, not flowers.

I just started wearing some OLD perfume I found called White Shoulders. I was alll hmmm aww I like it... turns out it's super cheap drug store perfume... and it smells like old ladies.... I don't know why I like it. It's really gross... but it's good. It's not quite sickly sweet, but almost! It's like when you ride down some streets in Hollywood on really hot summer nights and the Jasmine smell mixes w/ bum pee from an alley.... kinda like that, but less pee. No, no pee. just sweet old ladies. Does perfume go bad PC?

YES! When I was little and got perfume from Claire's, I wouldn't want to waste it, so I rarely used it and saved it forever until I got old enough to realize that rarely using perfume is a really bad idea. It gets old and smells like alcohol. At least the stuff from Claire's.

ey shadylane all personal fragrances used 2 be based on natural ingredients 4 obvious reasons but there still some smaller artisanal perfumers who use all natural ingredients (it dont scale 2 well in2 bigger operations 4 various reasons tho) & who release fragz based on naturals like vetiver, blackcurrant, figs etc.
but i bet the line ur thinking of is demeter fragrance library. starting in the 90s they released sum fragrances meant 2 smell exactly like (as distinct from just being based on) such things as dirt, tomato leaves, grass, cake, laundry detergent, books & so on. not all naturals as u can c, but i bet thats wat u were thinking of. i actually sampled some of these a couple years ago wen they used 2 carry them at sephora and a couple of them were so spot on it was fucken scary. tomato leaves especially. i really liked the laundromat 1. 1 of the original demeter guyz now has his own co. called cb i hate perfume and he has taken it to a whole other level.
dirt was the famous 1 btw
going in the other direction, comme des garcons released a highly experimental series around 1999/2000 w/ a pretty conventional structure of top/middle/base notes but the notes themselves included totally unorthodox kinda stuff like nail polish, burned rubber, copier toner, dust on a light bulb etc. odeur 53 & odeur 71 r the 1s i have heard of and i sampled some 53 1ce. its not 4 every1 2 say the least (this btw is why u dont wanna be making blanket recommendations of comme des garcons...some lil bro is gonna go out there and buy some odeur 53 thinking its gonna get him laid at the bar).
@mixte ya eventually all the compounds in a perfume will break down and the scent will change. every now & then u will find 1 that actually gets better or more inneresting but ya mostly it just gets nasty

2days featured scent is piper nigrum by lorenzo villoresi, an italian perfumer who apparently came from a pretty wealthy family becuz he was able 2 spend his whole youth traveling the world in search of new scents and ingredients & studying the perfumers art.
altho piper nigrum means "black pepper" the first thing u notice when u apply it is peppermint & resin...styrax resin 2 be specific. in this early stage the stuff always takes me back 2 when i was a lil punkass kid & would visit a friend of my parents who had a workshop in the house & u could smell the resin from the wood he was cutting. be4 long the black pepper appears & from that point on piper nigrum takes on the "middle eastern marketplace" kind of characteristic that it is famous for (well famous among scent nerds lol). along w/ anise & fennel, the resin & pepper & mint swirl around 4 the next few hours (there is also sposed 2 be nutmeg but i cant detect it).
1ce it has finally dried down & integrated w/ ur body chemistry, piper nigrum settles into a creamy amber w/ a hint of myrhh & the remnants of that sharp resin. beautiful. i really love this scent u guyz. this is most def. a cold weather scent, i cant imagine wearing it on even a mildly warm day. so there is a definite seasonal window for using it & if i happen 2 catch a whiff of it during the rest of the year it takes me rite back 2 winter.
@revolutionary, if u are really into ambery stuff u may wanna check this out either on ur self or on ur man...its unisex altho i would say its a lil on the masculine side. it may be a lil offputting at first but u gotta let it settle in & work with ur chemistry. alrato then u retards ill check w/ u later take care

Wow PC, I've learned more about fragrances on this thread than I ever thought I'd need to know! The breadth of your knowledge continues to astound.
One of my favorite things about riding a bike is the smells that I encounter when passing through the city. Of course, they're not all good smells, but they are real.
Mixted, that perfume White Shoulders has been around for ever and is a real old lady scent. We used to call it "Wide Shoulders" just for laughs.

What exactly does this mean? I don't even have air conditioning.
How am I phony? Is it that I live in a climate that gets into the 100's F. Is it that I spent more money on insulating my house then central a/c would have cost to alleviate a potential harmful situation. When the insulation along with a water evaporator fan only brings down the temperature 25 degrees (does nothing when the weather is hot and HUMID) and it is 85 degrees in my house it is at that time I wish I would have installed air conditioning instead.
Maybe its that I use a car to take care of mentally ill man, who it takes up to 30 minutes extra just to direct into the car without force.
Who it would be next to impossible to use public transportation with.
Even using access transit services (which he qualifies for full access) is difficult with the irrational behavior and lack of bladder and bowel control. I still drive that same man who today can't walk down the street without being so exhausted that he falls asleep after walking around the block.

Whatever it is that I smell like. It is very pleasing and appealing to many peoples noses.
It always a nice touch to make fun of peoples weight when getting out and exercise is almost next to impossible for that person (although I try). When the stress and lack of sleep from caring for a loved one is a big cause of weight retention.

Top fragrance Notes: lilac, bergamot and peony. The middle notes are: freesia, jasmine and oakmoss and the base of the fragrance is: spearmint, tangerine and musk.
A light citrus smell with some very earthy/fresh water tones. Very refreshing and a good cologne for day time use.
Tarmonster, That perfume is awesome. I love green tea and is a nice scent compared to the over the top perfumes that girls usually wear.
