All riders who were with the group on Hollywood Blvd Friday night and witnessed the tragic events (not those who were tackled or cited ---you should talk to a lawyer before making public statements---)....just witnesses. KCBS/KCAL will be doing a live feed from Hollywood and Highland at 5pm today and interviewing those who saw what happened.
If you were on that fateful ride or witnessed it, call KCBS/KCAL news editor Rosa Ordaz (818) 655-2299 and/or show up at 4:30ish.

Exactly. I'm sure they'll play up the "cars vs. bikes" angle, possibly describing it as a "road war". The media loves that term.
What they should focus on (and likely won't) is that the cameraman was legally observing an arrest, and yet was taken down by the Hollywood LAPD in order to cover up what they were doing. That is an issue that every citizen should be concerned about.

I wasn't there during the police episode and Manny's video. I would rather see a lawyer like dudeonabike or DJWheels show up and speak rather than randoms who will be quoted and clipped into sound bites that get the framework wrong.
I hope someone with a level head shows up though.

Dammit! I'm about to leave for a wedding in the OC right now!
I wasn't there that night either so there's little I can say to the press.
Who ever goes and speaks to the press needs to focus on any bad behavior of the cops that they saw with their own eyes!
You also have to remember that any little violation of the vehicle code is a reason to detain a cyclist. This means: no lights, running reds, unsafe lane changes around other cars, etc.
The real issue is: Was the force used to detain these cyclists REASONABLE? Yelling stuff at the cops, antagonizing them by filming, probably isn't enough to justify a tackle or a baton in your spokes as you're moving.
However, evading police or refusing to comply with direct orders ("stop" "pull over" "dismount") or making any aggressive moves toward them will definitely work against you and most likely justify the use of force to detain you.
I gotta run, but I do hope some level headed people give some strong eye witness accounts of bad cop behavior.
