Anyone have anything 54cm-56cm with gears?

I have little $ but have things to trade!

Can't quite commute anywhere on a singlespeed 29er and a quadruple frame tall bike.

 Why not just slap a gearing system onto the 29'r?

Or, does it not have drop-outs?

 it has drop outs, but i want to keep that beast for the mountains... i don't want 2 sets of tires etc... I want to go fast again!
