im tired of my crappy as bike!
everything keeps braking on it

anyone know any good bike stores where I can get a new bike with budget of like 500, looking for like 20-30miles a day with 20lbs pay load, 180lb rider, 15-20mph. on city streets.
fucking mountain bike are too slow with big fuckign wheels wiith stupid gears taht dont shift and brakes burn out and pedal breaking

hahah any bike shop would have a decent bike for 500 no crazy top of the line fuji's or anything but a bike that will last a long time.. i know that performance is having a blow out on bikes nice bikes for resonable prices but thats the westside where you comin from.

Start from scratch. Buy a seventies or eighties light weight steel 4130 cromoly frame. Then slowly, as you can afford, start adding things to it. Rims, tires, etc. Go with a flip flop hub so you can freewheel and ride fixed, depending on your mood.
Soon you will be so hip, we won't be able to talk to you.
Seriously though, build your own bike. You'll learn a lot and you'll love riding even more.

PerformanceBike is pretty much everywhere, but they're damned good too if you're lazy like me and can't hit all he local LBS's.
Last I checked, they had this Mongoose with 700's on clearance for $400 smackers.
Not too heavy, not too light, but it's a utility rig that serves it's purpose nonetheless.

how tall are you?I just bought an old raghly (I know I spelled it wrong) from good will like 2 or 3 weeks it's a 58 ,I'm 5'11" and seems to fit.it needs some work the front derailer is broken but everything else seems good.I bought it for 80 so I'll sell it for what I bought it for.If you want to see it let me know.I'm down near usc.

Or just buy something online (bikesdirect.com has some pretty great deals) and save a ton of cash, then hit up the Bikerowave / Bike Oven / Bike Kitchen and get it set up properly.
The local bike shops are cool, but in the sub-$500 range, it's hard to compete with the internet.
But whatever you buy, chances are most of it will have been made in Taiwan / China.

+1 on Performance Bikes.
At least at Performance you get to ride the bike and look at it. I would never recommend anyone that is starting out to build their own bike, wtf? Maybe somewhere down the line in their biking career they may want to build a bike, but when you're starting out? As you start to learn bikes, you'll start to learn the direction you want to go. If you look hard you can even get a decent bike for $300 plus.

he doesnt even know that type of bike he wants nor what size he needs so how would buying from the internet be a good idea? most of the interent sites are just some corporate heads that dont know or care anything about bikes, just in it to make money.
and since he is new he probably wont be able to put the bike together himself so he he would have to drive the bike in box to a bike shop to get it put together. add that amount on top of high shipping charges, probably will remove any money hes saved from buying from internet for a bike hes not even sure fits him right..
going into a bike shop he can test different types of bikes out, figure out what size he needs, tire kick, etc...and take home a bike he knows he likes and fits him correct.
