The Badger Dong ride??

I got the idea for this after reading the thread involving the discussion of the Badger Song.
I was wanting to put together this Mid-Late Summer, chill/hard ride that followed part of the GMR, and somehow wound its way to this thing called the "road-to-nowhere".
The ride would include all bikes, but primarily be focused on bikes that you normally would not see tackling this hilly, type of territory.
Not to mention it would probably fall on some weekend where alot of activity hasn't already been booked on the events sidebar.
This is still in the discussion phase, so if this thread keeps falling back, expect it to bounce back when I get some more ideas together.
I just don't want to post an event on the calendar, and then scrub it.

Well, I'm on my wireless-card network, so wiki's working when it wants to.
But, a possible destination I had in mind was this thing called the "Bridge To Nowhere", up in the SG Mountains.
I saw some pictures of it and this thing is literally surrounded by rock walls and alot of brush.
We may have to hike some of the way up there as the room for bikes is slim-to-none.
In addition, I'll also be looking around for a bbq spot, someplace to put chairs and a grill.
Or, I could just rent a pickup, and we could all have a tailgate party!!

I traipsed around different websites for a location and this is what I got from

"Trailhead: From Interstate 10 or the 210 freeway, exit on Azusa and head north 10 miles or so, paralleling the San Gabriel Dam on your right. Turn right on East Fork Road and continue 8 more miles to the East Fork Station, where the road dead ends. Note that if you go around a hairpin 180 degree turn on East Fork Road, you missed the road into the Sheep Mountain Wilderness. The trail head is short distance down an obvious service road. (Lat:34.2372 Lon:-117.76546)"
So now, I'm going to have to find out about some decent routing towards this place, as well as candidates for start points and whatnot.
I'm quite sure the San Gabriel Dam must have a bike path near it, so some of my problems are solved.
As far as Badger Dongs in action, this is a wilderness area, so I could see that being somewhat of a possibilty.

I haven't commented on this before. But, for obvious reasons, I don't really like the name of the ride.

No need to rush into it.
I still need to perform a ride-scouting myself and make sure this is something that won't scare away too many recruits.
I'm aiming for possibly some time September on a dead-weekend.

One of my ideas for a spoke-card was to have the Stargate with a Badger descending from the Matter-stream.
But, my photo-shop skills are comparable to that of a blind guy running around with a chain-saw.

I've done the east fork a few times, I'd really like to go to the bridge,
I've asked riders and they said you need to do some major hiking to get to the bridge, so yeah count me in.

A little hiking never killed anyone.
If you could shoulder your bike off the RedLine up to the surface, then this shouldn't be too bad.
