You could probably plan a summer bike tour kinda thing around this, work for two weeks, meet some cool folks, learn about gardening, then go on to another farm for two weeks, exc...
I think it would be really relaxing.

especially in the states along the coast. I would be too down, i just got the 2009 Farm Directory in the mail. It seems exciting.

all the stays in california seem to be very short, so a tour sounds pretty realistic.
