Wow just saw this today. Killing Joke
is coming around to LA!!!
A key influence on industrial rock, their early music was described by critics Stephen Thomas Erlewine and John Dougan as “quasi-metal … dancing to a tune of doom and gloom,” which gradually evolved over the years, incorporating elements of dance music, world music, gothic rock, though always emphasizing Coleman’s “savagely strident vocals.”
Finding modest commercial success, Killing Joke have influenced many later bands, such as Nirvana, Ministry, Amen, Nine Inch Nails, Napalm Death, Amebix, Big Black, Godflesh, Tool, Prong, Metallica, Primus, Jane’s Addiction, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Faith No More, Shihad and Korn, all of whom have at some point cited some debt of gratitude to Killing Joke.
Got the first two albums. The first one I have two different versions of it. There was the imported one that had a gated cover I think they call it. The cover opened like a book and it had an extra song with it. Then I got the American version of the album which is plane like other albums.
They I must admit I didn't really collect their stuff after the first two albums, but still would love to see these guys.

i have these.
killing joke - killing joke
killing joke - whats this for
killing joke - revelations
the latter two are ok, because its killing joke, but it sounds too much of typical 80s music production wise for me to fully get into them. self titled ends up getting more spins out of the three.
for a newer band who mimics the first killing joke lp sound, check out COMPLICATIONS
from canada. ex born dead icons.
