in a meta-ironic-post-pre reversal it seems dressing as a hipster has actually become rebellious, as there is such backlash, that it actually does make you cool because people seem to rebel against a style that is intrinsically "rebellious" hence making a meta-reversal of the style that leads it to be what its actual heinous purpose was, or maybe its not?

those damn jack fruit carnitas tacos alone are going to convert me to a vegan. Im already working on being a pescatarian but damn those tacos aree so good. i could have a uniform vegan diet consisting of jack fruit carnitas tacos, rice and beans and sweet potato french fries. those potato gnochis aren't bad either...

With all this talk about alternative-eating, is Vegan becoming some type of new, fashion statement?
Yes, it's healthy and all, but it seems like quite a few people are dishing the meat dishes altogether.
Seems to me that most of them could be trying to fit into a particular crowd, as opposed to actually trying to make themselves feel better.
As for those fruit-laden carnita's, I could never go for those.
I like my tacos and fruit-pieces as two, separate items on the plate.

Sure, veganism has become trendy, just like a lot of other things have.
Some people take a good idea and turn it into a business idea. Considering how much damage meat does to the environment (among other things), it's not such a bad deal to have converts.
And of course, like anything else-- there will always be people who do it because they think it's some kind of fashionable statement.
As for me, I haven't eaten meat in around 8 years now. I honestly lost track of how long it's been, it could be more. But I don't miss it at all. I could not imagine NOT being vegan at this point in my life.
