Cubcamp came in something like 21. Something about tire puncture and some killer taco truck the had to hit up.

Disappointing again, Cubcamp most certainly did not come in 21'st. Erock got a flat, I'm not sure but they were about 3 minutes behind the first team when I saw them go past me 1000 yards from the finish. Probably 7 or 8 teams back. I think Ryan passed me right before they came by so that would make them 8 or 9. Not that it matters after 1, however I did see erock hand in their paper about 10 minutes or so after they actually arrived at the finish so maybe they did technically get 21st.

firstly - wait for the fotos and vidz..
but to verify what Franz said, after looking back over my set of fotos which were taken in succession of ridaz passing the finish line.. cubcamp came in after Wiley - who was the fifth and final member of Team Touch to cross the finish line, so, yes, there is a unique possibility they could be 8 or 9 or so if Team Touch was 7.
which is kickass if they suffered a flat and whatnot..
but everyone rode hard and it was a well played day..
Wolfpack A and LA Brakeless: they deserve the cred..

yeah, cubcamp wasn't the only team to suffer some sort of curse on this race. I know that I somehow dropped my ENTIRE TEAM and crossed the finish completely on my own with some members of mid-city mayhem. I later found out that one of my teammates had become severely dehydrated and another had two drivetrain failures.
It was a bummer but I'm stoked that we all finished in one piece and placed respectably in spite of everything.

FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT PASSED BY THE BICYKILLERS ON CULVER BLVD
you know we had soo many teams by the thread. we were coming in for a close 4th or 3rd, we had already taken wiley out.
but i think i won't be doing this again, because there is a serious number of inexperienced riders, and whoever runs into a chase group while maintaining no form for sprinting is far worse than an amateur...
we wouldn't have cared if you drafted us all the way, but to take out our riders was another story...
we ended up cruising the last leg after Culver/Jefferson at 10 mph because craig and ilya were too damned shocked from the crashes.
and we still placed 10th of 27... not bad at all... but i understand that like after 16 everybody gave up.
team touch passed us up about 5 minutes after our crash, and they were rolling..
but whatever its all said and done, no hard feelings, just dont bring that wreckless shit to bicykillers or we're gonna stick true to our name....

Blacklung came in 10th even after our team got split up and I had to spend about 5 minutes talking my way out of a ticket.
Cubcamp.... live and learn fellas. gotta get those street tough tires baby! Take it from Wolfpack A... Tony Z personally texted everyone to get new armadillo tires and tubes that he would pay for himself if he had to. the redeam team!!!
After I got split up from my team I found Johnell and we bailed to the river path. a 5 member team caught us and we drafted with them until I saw their entire team disintegrate into a sliding pile of bodies and biccyles. I damn near ran into everyone but Johnell and I managed to avoid the pile up by the skin on our teeth!! Waht team was that?! anyone know??
MOOSEKNUCKLE! SMILES! hahaha the look on your faces as you rolled onto the beach bike path hahahahah oh man! I never said to go on the path I just pointed out that it started right there... on the right.... hahahah!!

i'll always remember that moment when we went through the wedge like some crazy suicidal non-budging racing rivals... that wedge between the suv and the cargo truck was gnarly but we did it.
what i don't get is that out of 235 riders 3 in our team were top 15 (i was 15th, kyle was 13th, and justin was 12th) and we finished 9th? how is it that kyle from o20's team and the nohowheelmen got placed before our original 6th place and totally confirmed order in the paper stack to 9th??? o20's team and the noho wheelmen and other some other mystery team came in AFTER team MID-CITY MAYHEM.
again. When our 2 team members rolled in late (fuzz and alley) we were 6th in the paper stack...
do the math though and check out the pics. was somebody videotaping the paper shuffling?
as far as team MID-CITY MAYHEM is concerned, in our hearts and minds we know the truth is a 6th place finish.

also, replacing you was a collective decision, because we panicked. we could not locate you at 2pm when registration began. That is an honest mistake we all made and we were not at all trying to replace you my brother. So please forgive us and don't take it personal. I still wonder what your fate and that of the team had been without that change. Get well soon man. you are an HMW by the way. we will meet soon to get the crue going.

Eddie, like I said, there is video of the papers. there is 2 videos of the finish and there is sequential photographic evidence. we are reviewing the video at LEE' crib. don't worry my friend.... your true place will be known....
put it this way. if it wasnt for the cops.... Wolfpack B (codename: Blacklung) would hve been 3rd or 4th. as it is... a respectable 10th is still not bad....

neither is a respectable 8th or ninth place. I trust the system, we'll all know our true finish soon. i'll be patient. afterall there was 235 mothaphuckas racing as teams of 5 and keeping all 5 together was a fun aspect and challenge of this type of race. thanks for throwing it. i had a blast. Too bad there were beaucoup injuries. heal well and fast racers. congrats to all that raced to all that rode. great job everyone. great race. can't wait for next year's.
