Macho Bike Culture
Thread started by deezovas at 09.23.13 - 8:47 am

Hey "bros" did you know that you are a part of Macho Bike Culture that the Ovarian Psychos are fighting by acting like low class hypocrites?

http://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-psyco-riders-20130923,0,1719866.story

Everyone out there abusing their "privilege" to ride a bike is keeping the women down, don't you know? Check your privilege Ridazz.

I have a question for the Ovas: why does riding a bike even come across your ignorant radar enough that you think it is a good idea? Maybe it is because of the radically inclusive bike culture in LA that your beknighted life had a little bicycle light shone into it.

If you have a reporter asking you about your group and you feel like it is okay to slander those who set the stage for your fake-ass re-hashed gender-bashing misandrous events you have an obligation not to paint the people and the movement that you are riding the coat tails of in an honest light.

The only bro culture I know about is that of the violent, ignorant, insular, and hypocritical Ovarian Psycho phony street gang. How many women over 30 or 40 are on your adolescent rides? You abuse the notion of biycles as a means of liberation when you intentionally exclude 1/2 of the population because of what is inbetween their legs.

reply

I went for a ride this morning and was violently confronted by macho bike culture immediately. A homeless man riding by on the opposite side of the street riding against traffic wagged his privilege at me while dodging cars. This was followed by yet another man oppressing us all by attending a public meeting on behalf of cycling interests in DTLA. No Ovarians were present. There are also the numerous "bros" who organize their group rapes, oh sorry, "rides" that assault all gyno-centrists by allowing males and females to interact without the use of veils, fake gang signs, phony language about "solidarity" while excluding others, and generally happy socialization. This is all adding up to one conclusion: this website is not Midnight Ridazz it is Midnight Rape-aazzzz.

BRO CULTURE MUST FALL! Wombyn must be protected ... or not .. or they should be but only by the state ... and it is all these sexist bike lanes that have been lobbied for by a predominantly male group of bike riders and unpaid advocates that are to blame. Oh no, wait, don't forget all the sexist men and lesbian women who have oppressed women by keeping cycling alive as an activity and means of transport so that the precious fallopian following faux-feminists can stumble into a world view wholly formed and demand that those who created this worldview disappear under threat of being "sexist".

MORE HO's LESS BROS. The mighty ovaduct has thus squirted!

More news from the macho bike culture front: men ride bikes at rates of 2:1 compared to women. OMG it is because of the patriarchy that fewer women ride!

It is also patriarchy that keeps men from working in preschools and early childhood education.

Oh, Ovarians! Save us from ourselves with your inane soldarity rides! You are our only hope against the avalanche of sexism that is clearly what has made our streets a blood bath of poor design.

Or maybe, just maybe, trying to use fake feminism to correct issues of urban street design is like trying to fry an egg by hitting a chicken with a hair dryer.

Why journalists give the Ovarians press and ignore the more significant numbers of males from these communities of colors: fucking sexism and everybody gets a hippy boner (even racists and women haters) by looking at young women. By making their rides girl only, the Ovarians show an innate understanding of the dynamics behind pageviews for online articles. If you do group shots people in the shot will look through the image if you take a picture of a woman more people will look at it - therefore a group shot of only women will get the most views of all and hence the Ovarians use whatever justification they can to maintain their media darling status. Anyone who mentions their violent record, their hypocrisy, their non-functioning tactics to spread cycling as a normal mode of transportation gets labelled a sexist.

Who is covering the hordes of young men riding harder, faster, and longer miles than the previous generations? Their blood is painting new bike lanes, their bodies are writing the history of Los Angeles bike culture. Their events, their advocacy is what drives the politics in this town - and a bunch of moronic image-whoring sexists on wheels get all the public praise. Their rhetoric is stale and the world will lose interest once the Ovas hit 30.

Fuck that. There are so many men and women working on cycling issues together one a shoestring or $0 budget that the gender ghettoization of cycling politics cannot afford the insipid and counterproductive propaganda the Ovas produce and inspire.

The link seems to not work but I found the article and read it.

These are just your run of the mill feminist who don't want cocks and balls around them when they "take" the streets "back".... yawn... Its fine. Let them be. LA Times can write about them if they please as well. If I saw a group of cyclists as I was riding pass, and I noticed they were all women, I would not stop and engage in talk. I would read that sign a mile away and move on. But whenever I see a bunch of men and women riding, then I definitely stop and say hello. Just the way it is. And besides, a group of women riding bikes... fun in theory for a fellow like me but in reality, I would just rather haul ass and stay safe.

Maybe they hook up and don't want pussy blockers?

Evelyn Martinez, in the green vest, shouts instructions as she leads other members of the Ovarian Psyco Cycles Brigade on a ride through Boyle Heights. The all-female group is both an answer and a challenge to aggressive male biking culture. Like men’s bike crews, it defies L.A.’s monolithic car culture with an in-your-face ethic. (Gary Friedman, Los Angeles Times / June 23, 2013)

By Denise Florez
September 22, 2013, 5:53 p.m.
Growing up, Evelyn Martinez's mother didn't want her to ride a bike.

"She thinks it's not safe for women to be riding late at night, and cars are dangerous too," Martinez said.

Moreover, her mother told her: "Bicycles are for men."

But after a chance meeting last year, Martinez joined an all-female, predominantly Latino cycling group that is both an answer and a challenge to the aggressive male biking culture. Like men's bike crews, it defies L.A.'s monolithic car culture with an in-your-face ethic, reflected in its name: the Ovarian Psyco Cycles Brigade.

The group says the name "is a play on words intended to be playful and simultaneously create some sort of acknowledgment/acceptance/pride in one's historically oppressed body."

Without blushing, the women use "feminine positive" slogans and catchphrases too risque for a family newspaper.

"This is a way to empower ourselves and use language that describes and empowers us," said Maryann Aguirre, this summer's group leader.

Martinez isn't the only one in the group who started riding at a later age because of parental apprehension. In many Latino families, women are considered fragile and must be protected.

"A lot of the times the women that have never had the privilege of riding a bike is because they don't have the resources, or it's the fear of physically falling, or no one was there to teach them or motivate them," Martinez said.

The nine core members are mostly Latinas in their 20s from Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles and Lincoln Heights who work for nonprofits. Each month, they organize a women's "Luna Ride" during the full moon, usually around their neighborhoods.

Their August ride, the biggest of the year, was a takeoff on Critical Mass, a monthly ride that spread from San Francisco to 300 cities, including Los Angeles. Just over 100 female riders joined the 30-mile ride from the Watts Towers to Hollenbeck Park, making five other stops along the way. They often choose political themes for their trips; July's was the California prison hunger strike.

The women also sponsor coed rides — although the men might have to listen to a lecture on male privilege and machismo.

Cycling is growing among young women but still lags far behind men's participation; only one in five riders in Los Angeles is female, the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition reported in 2011. The cyclists believe more women will turn out for rides with a female stride.

With male riders, "there's that whole bro-ish kind of stuff," Aguirre said. "We're not about who can ride fastest, we're about sisterhood."

One Sunday evening In June, 10 howling and cheering women started off from the Soto Street Metro station for the Supermoon Ride, celebrating the biggest and brightest moon of 2013.

Instead of the typical spandex gear, the women wore skinny jeans, houndstooth and plaid printed tights, studded vests and huarache sandals. Two of the women had T-shirts with the group's logo, the torso of a woman forming the ovarian "gang" sign: thumb and forefinger touching to represent ovaries and fallopian tubes.

As they passed Cesar Chavez Avenue, a few obscenities rang out from passing motorists. The Brigade didn't hesitate to respond.

Passers-by occasionally encourage them, including older Latinas who say they never had a chance to ride a bike, Martinez said.

"Older women come up to me and tell me 'Mija que bueno! Es muy bien ejercicio!' (That's so good my daughter! It's really good exercise)," Martinez said.

Aguirre, 23, is a single mother who started biking two years ago with the group; now it's her main mode of transportation. She even tows her 5-year-old daughter to day care in a trailer.

Martinez, meanwhile, has lost more than 50 pounds over dozens of rides in her year with the Psycos.

"I wanted to be able to show other women on bikes that your weight, age or size doesn't matter," said the 21-year-old. Now her mother wants to learn to ride too.

Your reference to the removal of male genitalia shows what you think matters most about people, because heaven forbid a person is born with a penis, right? Little pee pees are so gross and it is okay to hate on anyone with one because of (insert Ovarian Psycho bullshit here).

Oh no! Did I actually talk about something the Ovarians can't admit openly? That their group identifies itself by excluding people with a dick between their legs? Hey that's cool, I have a new group that excludes anyone who doesn't have my same skin color because they abuse their "privileges" and are "intimidating". Let's all write glowing articles about how empowering it is that my group of fat conspecifics get together and make up shit about "[That Other Skin Color] Culture".

The reality of bikes in LA is that gay men & women and straight men have been at the vanguard of this generations efforts to remake LA into a more bike friendly place. The one group that has probably done the least is the group that is made up of people like the Ovarians - and when they do deign to get involved they do it at the expense of half the fucking population being written off.

Nobody gets on a table top and celebrates the fact that people with dicks have done the lions share of organizing or that people who like to take it in the butt or lick someone else's vagina have been at the center of this important social movement. Why? Because those people are not cute, 20 year old, straight, women.

Now who is sexist you fucking clown?

I kinda have to agree with you.

while I like what the Psychos are trying to do with their sisterhood, I can't fuckin stand the male-bashing. and as a Latina, I find it a bit insulting that they also want to turn this into a race issue. while I have felt sexism from time to time, I have never, EVER felt that race has been an issue within this community. so please, ladies, while I appreciate the rides to raise awareness against domestic violence and rape, do NOT attack my friends for being dudes.

and also, I wouldn't be proud of an article that ended that way. no other article about anyone else in this community (be it WPH or the polo peeps or Stoopid Tall) has ever ended with "and, btw, it's a great way to lose weight!"...the fuck is that???

Or you can go fuck off and ride by yourself, fuckles.

I hear you on the celebrating the Bike Culture creators, though. Maybe you and Brittany can get together and start and appreciation group.
Since Bike Messengers got the ball rolling on this Bike Culture thing, mebbe you can do a ride down to DTLA and show some appreciation by kissing feet and tossing some salad on the hardworking, sweaty messengers of LA after a hard day of Messenger work.

Looks like every time I leave for awhile DIRTY HIPSTER, ooopppsssss I mean Borfo is getting in trouble for one thing or another. :-(

I see your point deezovas and it seems rather silly to be throwing a good portion of the bike culture under the bus in the article sited. For me, any bike rider on the street is much better than another car. Yes that even means those noisy 2 stroke engine bikes :-( Basically everyone helps in building the bike scene. Just some might do more than others, but even the lowly Mexican men riding on the sidewalk and getting to their two bit jobs should not be excluded, even though they're probably the largest group in the LA area.

Why don't we and those ladies in question address the number of girls that crash on each of the rides (99% of the MR rides) each night? If there's a group of 15-30 and maybe 2-3 girls, guess who's going to more than likely crash on that ride? So how bout it ladies, maybe you can be a little more alert and not ride so close to others? You know, like create some space around you?

So there was " Alleycats with actual bike messengers" and that was the beginning of "Bike Culture". Am I reading that correctly? And this happened in 2/30/03? So there was no "Bike Culture" before 2/30/03. So what happened that day? What was it like before 2/30/03?

Don't give up sleepy!!!! FOCUS!!!!!!!!! Keep distractions to a minimum!!!!! Remember, FOCUS!!!!!!

Bike messengers exist in every major city in N. America from 2003 going back in time so what would make the particular group of people messengering at that time so special that the LA bike scene would grow and fluoresce as it has?

Bike Summer 2005, the founding of the LACBC, the Bici Cocina - these are some of the first real steps that show the genesis of the bike movemenet we have in LA today. Messengers have played a part in this change in perception of bicycles but would not have pushed the movement forward as the bourgeois, creative, and intellectual classes that have gotten involved with the aforementioned actions. The make-up of those early groups? Def. male heavy, lesbians and gay people galore. Missing from a lot of this? Straight women. If anyone should be glorified as a gender in the bike scene in LA I would say it is NOT the straight woman - except as a propagandistic method of promoting further increases in cycling rates and not couched in the ridiculous gender-studies bull shit self-slathered all over the Ovarians.

National Bike Summit 2013: Women Are Biking More...How Do We Keep the Momentum Going?
from Streetfilms

At this year's National Bike Summit, we decided to take the pulse of bicyclists as to why they think women riders are growing so fast in number and also get some suggestions as to ways to grow them. In addition to the summit, for he first time ever there was a National Women's Bicycling Forum ahead of the NBS 2013, which was attended by 300 women

Speed for escaping chaperones. Less burdensome clothes for riding. The bicycle's little-known role in equal rights.

As much as we love bike culture and everything bikes stand for, we may have underestimated the profound significance of the bicycle as a cultural agent of change. Thanks to a brilliant new book, we no longer do. National Geographic's Wheels of Change: How Women Rode the Bicycle to Freedom (With a Few Flat Tires Along the Way) tells the riveting story of how the two-wheel wonder pedaled forward the emancipation of women in late-19th-century America and radically redefined the normative conventions of femininity.

"To men, the bicycle in the beginning was merely a new toy, another machine added to the long list of devices they knew in their work and play. To women, it was a steed upon which they rode into a new world." ~ Munsey's Magazine, 1896

A follow-up to Sue Macy's excellent Winning Ways: A Photohistory of American Women in Sports, published nearly 15 years ago, the book weaves together fascinating research, rare archival images, and historical quotes that bespeak the era's near-comic fear of the cycling revolution. ("The bicycle is the devil's advance agent morally and physically in thousands of instances.")

From allowing young people to socialize without the chaperoning of clergymen and other merchants of morality to finally liberating women from the constraints of corsets and giant skirts (the "rational dress" pioneered by bike-riding women cut the weight of their undergarments to a "mere" seven pounds), the velocipede made possible previously unthinkable actions and interactions that we now for granted to the point of forgetting the turbulence they once incited.

"Success in life depends as much upon a vigorous and healthy body as upon a clear and active mind." ~ Elsa von Blumen, American racer, 1881

"Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world.

I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel." ~ Susan B. Anthony, 1896

"Many [female cyclists on cigar box labels] were shown as decidedly masculine, with hair cut short or pulled back, and smoking cigars, then an almost exclusively male pursuit. This portrayal reflected the old fears that women in pants would somehow supplement men as breadwinners and decision-makers." ~ Sue Macy

Poignant and playful, Wheels of Change explores the early history of women in bicycling with equal parts illuminating insight and freewheeling fun.

My two cents: The Ovarians can eat a bag of dicks. Their sorry ass group gives a bad rep to females on bikes. Not only do they act like a gang but if you have a dick or you aren't gay they tell you to leave their ride. I remember once they even posted an event on Facebook saying everyone open-minded was accepted to their party at the Vortex yet when I got there, a friend and I were told no because we were men. I believe this community was grown in a positive way to never exclude anyone from any ride and yet these females can't get that across their heads. Also this quote from the article "Bicycles are for men." makes you look like a prick. Seriously, you're blaming your mom for some shit she probably said when you were a kid? Grow the fuck up. Bottom line, not everything with a dick is out to get you.

So, yes--Ovarian Psycolists, or whatever they're called, are a clear and present danger to the God-given free speech rights of men who like to talk down to women, and should therefore be ruthlessly suppressed. When will the sheeple get it? When they've heard it enough times, that's when! So say it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again...but most importantly, say it right here. In this thread.

And yes--Joe Borfo is the true identity of DIRTY HIPSTER. Where is the outrage? Why are the people not marching? Because they haven't been told enough times, that's why! So keep telling them, and telling them, and telling them...but most importantly, tell them right here. In this thread.

And yes--anybody who disagrees with Sleepy about anything whatsoever is an adolescent male rapist who listens to nü-metal, Apparently, repeating this exact same point in almost exactly the same words every six to eight weeks like clockwork hasn't managed to get it across to the general public yet, so what will? Repeating it some more, that's what! So repeat that repetition repeatedly...but most importantly, repeat it right here. In this thread.

Yeah. Yeah, I like it.

Coe cow and I had an all ladies ride, SIRENS. Why did we start the ride? Hmm... We were both new to the west side and I had gone on GOGA (also a ladies ride) which had died out and at the time we weren't fast enough for Wolfpack (but also that was on the east side) and the other fast rides: cub camp and root run were too fast for us, too. It wasn't that we didn't feel welcome or that the men that rode were sexist pigs - NO! I mean, cub camp was awesome cause they had a step program and each week it got progressively faster and tougher, so at some point we couldn't go cause we just weren't fast enough - I digress - so we started the all ladies ride to get fast enough. That was what it was about.

Every week we would come up with a route that was 30+ miles and we would bike it. We were good and we learned how to pace line and pass each other, call out lights and clear intersections. We were worked as a team and had so much fun doing it.

The guys were amazing and backed us! They loved what we were doing and on our first ride met us at the beach and we all partied it out. After that, we would sporadically meet up with cub camp and ride with them. The guys would joke about coming out to our ride, but it was never a sexist thing. In fact, a few guys who weren't fast enough but wanted to be eventually started to ride with us and then we had an invite of guys one night and that was fun!!

A group of us trained for the all city race and actually did Wolfpack!! Which had been one of the goals we were working towards and then we raced the all city race.

The intention of the ride was to learn how to go fast on the urban streets of LA. I am 100% behind that! It was never about "losing weight" but getting in shape and learning to trust those you ride with.

Being a midnight rida now for 5.5 years, I have never felt threatened by men or worried I was going to get raped on rides. I have never been sexually harassed on rides.

The world is fucked and I don't think that any one sex should run the world. There are some men and women who should not be in control. Including me after a couple shots of whiskey. Haha!

If you're going to create the ride, create a ride to inspire people - be positive, not negative.

If your ride is about domestic violence and rape, then go visit places and offer help to women who need it.

If your ride is about getting in shape and feeling good about your body, don't press the image thing - being obsessed with image is a downfall in society, but riding to be healthy, promote that and have stops at healthy dining places.

If a ride is to bring awareness to lesbians and transgender peeps, than do that and introduce yourself to places where you can invite new people to get on bikes.

To ride a bike and not allow peeps to ride with you because they have a penis is because you are an exclusive group. This should then be a secret group, off the grid and private like a few bike gangs already do.

This ride and way the article is written feels like a cry for attention - in a negative way.

Personally I think they are spot on. way too many guys riding bikes and not enough girls.... I believe it is for a couple reasons.

A) Getting hit by a car is scary as shit and guys are more likely to be the ones to deal with that. Guys are more likely to be daredevils stuntment etc... I dont want to sound sexist but I guess that sounds sexist.

B) Guys turn into morons whenever they see girls out in public. they make noises they drive near and slap asses they harass women. Guys are just fucking dumb asses for the most part. This makes girls not want to be out in public on a bike. I know one girl who now refuses to take the LA river bike path because some dickheads followed her and harassed her on the path. fucking idiots.

C) girls dont like cold weather.

Ok I know I sound like a sexist jerk but there you have it. Guys... you are morons.stop harassing girls.

On the other hand.... I'm not totally excited about the name of the ovarian psychos... I would like to see an all girl group come out with a less aggressive name... like in order to ride a bike as a female do you really need to be pyscho? I liked Skull's girl ride... the whirly girls. always been my favorite all girl ride name...ok I guess that could be sexist too.

Hmmmmm.

I was expecting some disappointment but not so consistently with ALL of the opposition.... I mean when you're using sexist insults and language like they're fat, they're lesbians, they're angry females, I'm pretty sure deezovas claimed the Ovas are using their sexuality to further their media presence??? WOW.

You can't expect anyone to take you seriously when you are doing that. Trust I'm the expert on not being taken seriously. I'm going to start a ride called "this makes sense" and the spoke cards will be logic 101 textbooks, so bring a backpack.
You also can't expect for these same people to want you around after calling them fat clit lickers.

I guess you can. midnight ridazz is pretty weird like that. You can treat someone like total shit on the forum(facebook?), and then give them a beer on a ride and you're homies. but you can't expect everyone to be about that life. Just like I can't expect you all to be about the less bullshit life. shit happens.

the problem with "giving advice" to female riders on how to further promote women's issues is male or female you really don't have the right to dictate to a woman how to act. that's the whole fucking point. to create thought processes independent of overwhelmingly domineering male input and let's see what we come up with. What is so scary about something new? gj borf.

which furthers my point that...

since i became a feminist earlier this year hating you all (thanks) what i've learned and am still learning in this short amount of time is that feminists are as different as women... we all have different experiences, environments, actions and reactions and most importantly different oppressors.

i can't really sit here and tell you what the experience of a latina female in her early 20s in east LA is. I can tell you the experience of a white female from OC. that's it.

and I can speak to you about my oppressors, but I don't know that they are the ova's oppressors. I don't know if I am an oppressor and abuse privilege, but I am learning. and I am glad I am trying and I scold the rest of you that think you know it all.

i'm pretty "over it" when it comes to maintaining the sexism I receive and continue to receive in the community. until you have the experience of showing up on rides as the only single female, in thigh highs and a mini skirt, and go home with whoever turns you on the most that night, and other nights, and live the experiences I have to deal with just for being me, a 23 year old sex-positive female, you really don't know what you're talking about.

my first dealings with women who had different views on feminism were on this forum. and I had to ask myself: was a woman who was not inclusive to other women not a feminist? clearly, no, because I have no right to dictate how someone else should act. (are you listening, Sara?) are this woman's experiences any less valid than mine, her voice any less important, her femininity any less important to the collective female voice? not a chance, i wouldn't be that type of feminist, that only goes on to oppress women that don't believe what i believe.

in the same way, if you believe that i "ask for it" because of my behavior, you are my enemy, and perhaps my oppressor, male or female. make no mistake, it's been a year and I'm here to stay and I intend to deal with the situations that get put in front of me. I do not intend to change the way I dress, the way I act, or who I sleep with.

in closing, most relevantly,
nothing in the article was man-bashing and sexist. I've seen plenty of men "joke around" with other men for being overly machismo about speed and wearing spandex kits.

if you think we're at a day and age where there's no reason a woman would feel unsafe to walk home at 3 AM in East LA, you're an idiot.

if you ever read in any article anywhere that 9 young people are spending their professional careers working for nonprofit organizations and bettering the communities YOU live in, and you feel more inclined to post negativity on a forum about it rather then get up and do something, you're an idiot. (im in the idiots club, I know)

and the fact that no female other than the midnight ridazz clique crew, and even then only 2 of them, felt that you boys were worth the time of day or the effort to have a discussion with you on this forum is very telling of the actual respect you will have and continue to have should you be incapable of a real conversation under real names, not aliases.
so while you are sitting here jerking off at pics in the Ridazz Spotlight, these chicas are changing the world.

congrats. in short: you're still idiots.

I changed my mind. Instead, I'm going to collect all the reasons I really don't need to give respect to you to have an argument with you.

How many women over 30 or 40 are on your adolescent rides? You abuse the notion of biycles as a means of liberation when you intentionally exclude 1/2 of the population because of what is inbetween their legs..

Look I know about women's only spaces even though I've never been on an ova ride. Fact is, someone with a penis would totally be allowed if they identified as a woman. Even cross-dressers, who live every day as a man, are often allowed into female-only spaces as they are in their "female mind." Some trans people never transition just because of money or they don't feel like it, yet still identify as women. So, they still have a cock.
So, before you go bitching to other people about the ignorance of ageism (are you trying to tell us you're old?), I would check your own "radical inclusion." Don't you go on to call the girls fat?? That's called "sizeism," baby.

Too easy.

who organize their group rapes, oh sorry, "rides"...This is all adding up to one conclusion: this website is not Midnight Ridazz it is Midnight Rape-aazzzz.
Oh come on, I'm the first person to bring up the threat of rape on a ride and I'll probably be the last. Who's making straw man fallacies now? No where in the article did it even come close to insinuating females were unsafe on group rides and subject to physical or sexual assault. NO WHERE.

Moving right along.

MORE HO's LESS BROS. The mighty ovaduct has thus squirted!

This is why you have the mental capacity of a 12 year old, and are treated like one.

It is also patriarchy that keeps men from working in preschools and early childhood education.

SERIOUSLY? THAT'S THE MEN'S RIGHT ISSUE YOU WANT TO BRING UP? It can't be fucking custody or sexist assumptions/arrests in domestic violence cases, or something fucking WORTH ANYBODY'S TIME?!?! YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE RIGHT OF A MAN TO BE A PRESCHOOL TEACHER?! WHAT ABOUT THE RIGHT OF A MAN TO RECEIVE CHILD SUPPORT. This totally proves you're a total idiot loser, if the rest doesn't.

Or maybe, just maybe, trying to use fake feminism to correct issues of urban street design is like trying to fry an egg by hitting a chicken with a hair dryer.

There's that straw man fallacy again. I follow the Ova's on Facebook and have read their core values and mission statement, and see the events and workshops they do. You know it's not about "urban street design," idiot. I don't have to tell you that.

This makes me want to put a u-lock to your face. You are showing your innate sexism, that's it. And I wear short skirts because I understand that gains male attention right?

Who is covering the hordes of young men riding harder, faster, and longer miles than the previous generations?

OK so I googled "male cyclists are faster than ever" in incognito chrome so I don't THINK my results are customized and here is what I found, first 4, no need to skip or edit. Amazing:

"Hannah Barnes: The fastest cyclist you’ve probably never heard of"
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/10125158/Hannah-Barnes-The-fastest-cyclist-youve-probably-never-heard-of.html

"Men Cross America Faster than Women - the 'Race Across America' (RAAM) from 1982 to 2012."
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23434612

"Monday Mailbox: Cycling with Men vs Cycling with Women"
http://lovelybike.blogspot.com/2013/04/monday-mailbox-cycling-with-men-vs.html

"Chicking: How Women Are Leaving Men in Their Cycling Dust"
http://breakingmuscle.com/cycling/chicking-how-women-are-leaving-men-in-their-cycling-dust

So I'm confused now, are you mad at ALL of these journalists?? All of the women??? What exactly ARE you so angry at?

I enjoy the grand finale of the LA Times article which basically calls all the Ovarians a bunch of fatties. A

And I enjoy the grand finale of your posts.

Yay I won't be replying to you anymore. boooo you suck get off the stage...

I have a new group that excludes anyone who doesn't have my same skin color because they abuse their "privileges" and are "intimidating".

As a white person, I wouldn't be hurt by this. I am not hurt by the Ovarian Psycos exclusion of women of less color other races. So now you're a sexist and a racist? Are you going to tell us race issues aren't a problem, either? Really? Not that I feel excluded or that I wouldn't be welcome, but basically this is not such a radical notion. Why can't people of color get together and fight for their communities?
If you made a white group that claimed it was abused by...what...colored privileged? yeah you'd be racist. Welcome to the world.

Still you, because phrases like "people who like to take it in the butt or lick someone else's vagina" are disgusting, degrading and homophobic. If you told me I liked to get pounded by a straight male, I'd find you disgusting. Learn how to act.
Nobody gets on a table top and celebrates that men have done the lion's share of violence and oppression, either, but it seems to bring up such a thing would consider me "sexist" in your eyes.

FUCK IT'S NOT ENDING. I'M ONLY HALFWAY THROUGH THE THREAD AND LIKE 2 HOURS IN.

I QUIT. YOU'RE AN IDIOT.

That is something a 2008 MR Pussy would say.

Completely ignoring the fact you have the nutsack to bully a 23 year old female online but not the nutsack to even say who you are??? HILARIOUS.

#pussiesforlife

#itsbrittanybitch

#thisplacesucks

It's because you're afraid.
You can tell me to go commit suicide, but not deal with me to my face?
Fuck, you SHOULD be afraid the way you talk to people. When you treat people like that, they retaliate! Look at Osnap, that dick is never going to be able to say another Egotistical thing on this forum because I'll be right there.
But at least he's not so afraid!!!!
You, my non-friend, are the epitome of loser scum. And maybe I'll find out who you are and confront you one day. And your pussy online life can finally have some fucking meaning.

And even though I think this entire world would be better off without a scumbag like you, I would still never be so totally fucked up to be like "go kill yourself."
because I'm a human, not an internet troll.

The more you don't tell me who you are, the faster I will find out, stalk you on a ride and confront you. I would recommend shutting up rather that riling up anger inside me that wants to bring you the consequences of your actions.

And I will find out.
Nobody knows who I'm fucking. :) Or what they tell me.

xoxo

Anyway, I'm going to leave you alone now.

I changed my mind, you know my feelings about everyone individually is really different.

No I don't like 2008 internet bullies.

But you really really fucking crossed the line with me. What if I was suicidal??? This shit is sick.

If you continue to harass me, I don't know I'll figure out something more substantial than internet bullying to retaliate. Apparently I can't get a restraining order until you try to find out where I live. Hmmmm. :/ I'll make it work.

You know I can only be hard for so long. Take so much bullying. Let so many men put their hands on me on rides. Deal with married men hitting on me and when I reject their advances, being "mad dogged" a whole ride scared as fuck, and not a single person out of 20 says a thing. I'm sick of people telling me they think I have mental problems, then telling me things you don't tell to an emotionally fragile person.

Next step is the police.
Anyone puts their hands on me, I'm calling the cops.

I changed my mind. I'm not going to bully you. I'm going to practice what I preach. No bullying. And if you continue to act this way, I'm going to take whatever actions I can to make it stop without stooping to your level.

How can I take you to court for a restraining order if I'm doing the same thing??

No, no, I had this all wrong.

Peace. See you on a ride. I have pink bartape now. <3
