Can anyone recommend some cool bars in Hollywood? Something really divey with cheap drinks would be ideal.
We are taking Barchopz to Hollywood this month, so I need some input

Tinys, on Hollywood and near Argyle.
The Frolic, on Hollywood near Vine
Birds (half priced drinks Wed at 11pm-midnight) on Franklin
Powerhouse, on Highland near Hollywood

The frolic and powerhouse are awesome. powerhouse is probably able to hold more peopel than frolic room though.

the burgundy room... voted best dive bar in the recent la weekly print.
there's also "the room" minus the alley way entrance across the street from the burgundy room.
i think they've closed down daddy's but that would have been a dope spot also. hmm let me think.. haven't been bar hoppin in hollywood for a minute.
but for sure we have to hit the burgundy room. really small, really cheap and our kinda spot.

it's gonna be hard to find cheap beers in hollywood. the white horse if it's even still there on Western or Vermont used to be somewhat divey....there's a tranny bar on western north of santa monica called the blacklite that Eddieboy frequents.....dresden isn't divey but you have marty and elaine playing there if they haven't retired yet.

There is also "The Bar" on Sunset near Bronson.
And "The Well" on Argyle near Sunset.

Screw Hollywood... go to the King Edward Saloon on 5th and Los Angeles. Thats a real dive bar.

I'd avoid [the bar]. The Bouncers don't welcome anyone unless you roll out alone with connections and is/are famous. Famous as in you once appeared in a reality show or boned anyone from a reality show. The place sucks. I've only been in there twice but only with friends that were in there already or with a few friends out of town who know the owner.
You got 3 good votes for The Powerhouse. I'd throw my vote in there too.

3 clubs is awesome also. got a small dance floor and drinks arent too bad. atmosphere is great.

There's a little korean bar that never has anyone inside at 6th & Berendo. Might be cool.
Or, HMS Bounty at 3357 Wilshire Blvd.
Royal Academy, good call on Boardners, I used to love this place when they did D&B nights. Nice club venue, and the adjoining bar next door is pretty leisurely.
Brass Monkey (bar + karaoke) also in Korea Town

LOL... Damn... I totally forgot about that place. I was totally into this girl in 94-96 and her mom used to work there as a bartender. I didn't end up hooking up with the girl (salty game) but it was weird when we had to drop off her mom to work in the evening one time. She was cool... and yes... I remember the chubby girls dancing. Never met the little person.

"The Woods" on La Brea Xstreet Sunset.
No exactly divey, but BarChopz can definitely make divey in no time lol. Only reason I bring it up is cuz they have HAPPY HOUR til 10pm! everyday. Stiff drinks that dont burn a hole in your wallet. $3-$4 bucks during happy hour.

the white horse is deff awesome! they hook up the FREE hot dogs and snacks! i love this place....
i like "happy endings" when i'm looking to get rowdy... just sayin!

The Snake Pit on Melrose at Gardner. Know it's a little out of the way, but it's a cool spot, very chill, and walking distance from my apartment...to which y'all are invited to leave your bikes and hang out...if there ain't too many of ya.

I love the Burgundy Room, Star Shoes, hmm... Daddy's is gone...
Jumbos is dope and so are the Rustic and Derby!! Frolic Room I've heard is ok.
Let's all just grab a pint and keep it movin....

I actually don't have enough money for this ride, but FUCK IT, it's a good excuse to ride the MTB and wear something silly.
