Downtown to Long Beach tonight?

Please help an ignorant newb.

I'd like to ride tonights No Regrets, in part to trial run getting to LB so I can get to the Dark Century next week.

I'm thinking of taking the 60 bus or the blue line. Is one of these better.

Tonight, I wouldn't mind riding down but I'm not sure that the direct route from my place near exposition park to LB would be the smartest, especially on the way back.

If anyone is riding down/back from downtown, USC, or parts north, I'd like to join you.

 Blue line will get you to the transit mall in Long Beach which is pretty much where the Critical Mass ride starts up.
The start point for the Dark Century is not too far from there.
Also the 60 will get you to the transit mall, just alot slower than the blue line. Rumor has it that the 60 runs 24/7.
