On the recent MR ride I spoke up when folks were talking pridefully about threatening drivers with a knife. I was then threatened with violence then another rider tried to knock me off my bike. I feel sorry for folks who feel so emasculated that they have to respond with violence to any questions about their actions. Someone is aggressive with their car, it stops, don't be proud that you threatened a knife on them, it's over. When someone questions your violent response don't use alpha male bullshit to try to quiet them, don't actively try to run them off the road and knock them down.
I really feel bad that this shit gets a go, this dominance driven hyper machismo bullshit needs to stop. I'm not saying that folks who act this way need to go, I'm saying that we need an atmosphere where they don't feel their worth as a human is derived from this. I really don't know how this is achieved in the end but it really needs to start with calling folks out, calming situations, and telling folks it's alright to relax and let their guard down. If we have one goal this year, I hope it is something that aims towards these goals. MOAR FRIENDZZZZZZZ!!!!!
