who decided loosening the bolts on my stem was a good idea,
Let me tell you, it wasn't. I don't know about you but when i decide to go into a dropped position at 25 mph down a hill i expect my handlebars to stay where they are not rotate outward. So let me lay it out for you, tangs to dockweiler name the time, name your price. I'm guessing i wont get a response so if i ever find out who you are other than your own response here, you better pray to god because i will use any means possible to beat you within an inch of your fucking life.
You never mess with another mans vehicle ever, bike or car.
To all the trolls, ive owned this bike since nov 07 and put well over 2000 miles on it changing the handlebar position several times. I have never had any of the 4 bolts loosen themselves. On the other hand i really do hope this was some freak accident and not some some douche.

Great, more shit to worry about when we're just trying to go out for a ride.
Theft is one thing, now people think it's funny to run around and sabotage someone else's shit to get their "Jollies Off".
I guess this means a "Tug-Test" before you get rolling.
This is what most truckers do to make sure some Jackass didn't pull their 5th-wheel, locking lever out at a truckstop.

yea when i felt that bars move i thought it must be the moisture plus improperly torqued bolts. then i stopped and one of the bolts was halfway out finger loose. i had been sprinting in my drops, out of saddle, 2-3 miles before i got to hal's that night catching up to ROOT RUN and they were SOLID.

in case it was a freak accident, you could try low strength lock tight to make sure the bolts dan't rattle loose again.

or how about you just check your bike every once in a while... a lot of people never troubleshoot to make sure everything is in its place. your bolts could have rattled loose throughout a long period of time. but if this happened right after a beer stop at a ride then i'd call out sabotage.

Yeah it might not have been sabotage, it might have been someone trying to steal parts of the bike.
Larsen joined ROOT RUN earlier that night, and I saw him move into the drops a couple of times. And as he said, he must've been riding that bike hard to catch us after passing us going the other direction. I'm convinced his bolts were solid before the party.

i highly doubt someone would try and steal those handlebars, they are cheap alloy road bars that are super scratched up. i was in the drops hard, 2-3 miles before, bolts dont just loosen in that amount of time.

I'm glad you're okay, Larsen, and I hope whoever did it has a whole year of flats, broken spokes, seized-up hubs, and fucked bottom brackets. Messing with someone's bike is not okay.

this is just a speculation, but you're handle bars were loose the same night junu got his bike stolen right?
you said 3 bolts were loose and the last one was totally loose bout the fall out.
do you think maybe someone was trying to steal ur handlebars?
maybe mid jack and the theif got spooked or something? or maybe after twiddling with ur bike, they saw that junu's bike was unlocked and free.

whomever loosen larsen stem could have been anyone.
i would like to think that no one from MR would do such a thing... and i honestly believe that it wasn't one of us.... but who carries the kind of tools around that ISN'T a rider to do that.
UNLESS they are planning to steal parts OR just have it out for cyclists and want to mess their shit up.
there has been a lot of anger towards cyclists lately. (ie- people getting their bikes jacked, people getting their bikes jacked WHILE RIDING, food being thrown, insults, etc).
these assholes are just hatin' i imagine because they have to sit in traffic all day long while we have fun getting to our destination but who knows what goes on through a sickos mind.

It seems unlikely that some random person would fuck with somebody's bike.
Sabotaging a vehicle can be considered attempted murder. And at the every least an individual can get their ass kicked for fucking with somebody's property. Of course if somebody is trying to steal something, they have a motivation to risk getting busted or beaten: money.
If they are just fucking with a random bike, then there is no such motivation for taking that risk.
Is there somebody that would to kill or hurt you?
That seems the only probable case for sabotage.
Since you interpreted this as an act of aggression toward yourself I am assuming you have people in your life that you consider a mortal enemy.
Other than those scenerios, we have to assume that the bolts somehow rattled loose ... (I had it happen recently on my chain ring).
