In relating to funanu's question about how would we be without Midnight Ridazz, we begin to realize how Ridazz connects us to bicycle culture locally and worldwide.
I want Ridazz to keep traveling in groups to cities with bicycle culture.
So far we've connected with Portland, and I feel it has bridged us in their minds as us being on the map like them. We're also really tight with the San Diego folks, and I foresee us doing a lot more events with them. San Francisco is starting to take effect with us too. Crank Mob has connected with Santa Cruz. Ridazz in Black Rock City (Burning Man) is a whole other related issue as well.
I really would like to make a big trip to Austin next year in the spring. There's an amazing bike scene there, and I think we should connect with them.
This is more reason to pursue getting a Ridazz Bus, like skidmarcus has done for us. We need to help him make that really happen.
There's also talk about people living together and creating more communal activities and business by possible obtaining some real estate. Den dinners have inspired a lot of gatherings like this, and I think it needs to grow.
I don't mean to be cheesy, but I really wanted to say this for a while.
Well, come November, I'll be able to venture out and spread the word via, spoke-cards and carrying around archives on my camera.
Columbus OH, Atlanta GA, Gulfport MS, Reno NV, Phoenix AZ, Des Moines IA, and a ton of other cities I stopped and delivered/picked up in had a some substantial evidence of a bicycle culture.
I just need to get back out there and do my thing.
whatever happened to the italy ridazz trip anyway? not like i have money to do it but it's fun to support all you richy riches who might go. i live vicariously through you. now party harder dammit. my buzz is disappearing.

I’ve been thinking about a “future ride” where for a few hours we make a small bike town (the future). Basically an area of just 4 to 8 square blocks will be chosen and everyone that shows up will just ride around a bit, do some shopping and dinning, ride a bit more, etc. creating a tiny bike town. There will be dozens of bikes on every street and bikers in every bar and store. Everyone will be encouraged to act like their future selves. A tentative name is Bike Town Beta.
That's a really great idea, only I think it could easily be an all-day event. It would also highlight an area in LA (wherever it was held) that is more bike & pedestrian-friendly.
I want a monorail cat in my home. It would take me from my room to the bathroom and from the bathroom to the kitchen and everywhere. Because I can't walk 2 feet over. I just can't. It's unethical.
I had an idea exactly like this... except it would take place on the ballona creek bike path... we could designate districts at half mile intervals.. Red light District... Food District... Bars... Theatres... Camping grounds...
they had this think called cyclovia last sunday here in portland where they shut down a 6 mile radius in the city to car traffic so you could only acess by biking walking skating anything besides motor vehicles . it was awesome and portland was the first city in north america to do it you guys should shoot for LA to be the next one especially since everyone thinks its such a car dominated city show the world that people do ride bikes in LA
I am going to buy a Volkswagen van and paint colorful flowers on it.Then ask a bunch of riders to ride with me to San Francisco and we will do acid and ride through the streets of san fran!!! YEAH SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN!!!

it would be really cool to have the city shut down a square block radius, the people that do the LA Burning Man Decom may be able to help us figure out that, downtown and burbank (labonge) or Santa Monica are usually more open to that.
I'd love to help coordinate coverage, it should be proposed as a sustainable art piece. A live action concept of the future. If you make it a little later (no inbetween decoms and thanksgiving) I might be able to coordinate costumes and permits and have it splashed all over the news.

As far as the future of Midnight Ridazz, THE RIDAZZ BUS is already happening. Its been happening for a while. All of the activity of THE RIDAZZ BUS project takes place in the google group for it, search for the link, I don't know it off-hand.
If you haven't heard, construction is nearing completion, and it will soon be a road ready rolling freakshow. I set it all up to stay in motion while I have been on the road, and the Ridazz that picked it up on the g-group have taken it and run fast and far. We are on the cusp of freaking some faces. Anyone interested in THE RIDAZZ BUS should find the g-group. Can someone post the link?
Since this is bumped up here, I thought I'd broadcast my desire to travel to Nashville. I'm not sure of the cycling community there, but when I was there briefly this summer I saw a bunch of riders coming and going. Plus, its the Music City. So, Nashville in the future.
