A few points if you've been following my posts on Twitter...
1. My friend Sven and I were riding our DB rent a bikes to the potsdamer platz giving cheers with our beers to Robert Rauschenberg's bike statues. Sven took pics so one i'll replace with my profile after his conference at Bonn.
2. Rode my bike through Pescara, Italy to my friend's camp. I really should stop smoking cigarettes because I struggled to catch my breath through the italian heat.
3. Stockholm, Sweden is an another bike friendly city I rode through Gamla Stan and Sodernalm three days ago. Stockholm is a great city for it's bike routes if only if they can open their bars til 2 am at least (it closes at 1am and they only serve a max of 3 drinks unless you're not appearing to be drunk per Swedish law).
4. Vienna, Austria has hookers who ride bikes. Awesome.
5. I'm in Glyfada, Greece right now and Glyfada and Athens are not bike friendly cities. In fact, their cab drivers ride like maniacs here and the lack of bike lanes worry me. But, I'm chilling before my friend gets married tomorrow in Glyfada.
I was in Athens in June. It's not bike friendly but compared to 4 years ago I see some improvements already ie people dare to ride their bikes on the streets.
If you are interested, there is a ride on Sunday at 4pm from downtown (Paideio tou Areos Park, statue of Athena) to the beach a little furher than Glyfada where you are.
Schweeet. Thanks Marino. I'm at Glyfada til Monday and then going to an another hotel in Pireaus, GR to see Athens. I'm gonna check the ride out and post more on this thread about it tomorrow. Tomorrow at Greece anyway.
And yeah Sweden's awesome. My friend lives at Normaalm (sp) and we rode our rent a bikes and stuff through town then hit up the national museum. There's a ton and a ton of museums here at Stockholm.
