The ridazz have landed! Some of us are still here...but a bunch have arrived in New York already, and have probably dumped all of their shit in the ridazz pad that Franz and Marcus helped find.
Can't wait to get there and join in the SHIT THROW!
I rented the big ass bike bag courtesy of Orange 20. I love those guys..... fixed my broken axel too. Unfortunately I over pacled it at 62 pounds and had to pay an extra fiddy bucks. :(
New York is fa-fa-fa freezing.
Somehow franz hooked up a 4 bedroom apt for $600 + $200 cleanup deposit. Internet and cable included.
Drunken skidmarcus + drunken Franz versus drunken me = destroyed furniture = lost clean up deposit.
Almost got run over by a red pickup barreling at me new york not givin a fuck style.
Cooked everyone cheese blitzens for breakfast.
Brandon snuck some leaves onto the plane strapped to his sack.
Brandon got lost last night and his iphone died. Slept in an alley. Then slept in a starbucks at 5:30 until the apple store opened up where he bought a charger. He also had an accident and probably sprained his foot and or broke it. He's limping around....
Funderstorm is playing on TV tonight. Public access show.
please keep the stories coming!!!!!!!! we love you gais and hope you are all ok. glad to hear that you brought the LA vibe and are keeping it alive in NYC!!!

Daaaaammmnnn I love riding in manhattan! The traffic is absolutely chaotic but def do-able. The secret is that you have to roll a little faster than traffic. Cab drivers will violate you but they give a courtesy honk when they come up from behind.
oh my GAWD!!! color me Jealous!!! have a BL:AST Sat at Bike Kill!!!
Speaking of NYC on Sat - iis anyone there planning on doing the messenger halloween alleycat???
registration is at 1:30pm at Pitt and Delancy in manhattan... it's the return of Evil E!!! legendary NYC messenger who used to throw the Halloween alleycats way back in the day... he's known for crazy races :)
also - please please please watch, listen, and avoid opening car doors while riding tthrough traffic. be very very wary of of cabs slowing down or swerving into the bike lane to pick up and drop off passengers. they have no shame and don't give a fuck.
FUCK! #$%&&%$#@#
Reality just stepped in and kicked me in the ass. I really did try though. I could of landed at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning but my mom made a good point about my sprained ankle that I wasn't considering cause it's you guys in N.Y. is too good to pass by. Although had I made it Branden an I could support each other in destruction. :* (

We left him at the crib with his bad foot to get rest.... we got back at 3:30Am to find him locked out of the house unable to access his iphone and unable to scale the fence to try and break in in back.....
He also had forgotten to mention that while he was lost yesterday he got a ticket for riding his bike on the sidewalk.
AT got PWN3D by "Ridazz Camera" muhahahaaa youtube vid to come :)
backstory: The big T-Rex pulls up to the pizza joint and brazenly leaves his Surly Travellers Check bike unlocked outside and brags about how he will "chase any thief down in his cleats." Minutes later we pulled this prank that would make Allen Funt jock. I have to admit, this was pretty effin cruel joke... as you can see in the video, we let it go exactly 2 seconds too long.... 2 seconds mind you....
I was super unhappy. Right when they told me I was thinking - am I gonna cry? So slick - those bastards. They even distracted me and everything. Revengance will be had.

ok, more riding through brooklyn
williamsburg bridge and to the Banksy show on 7th.
fucking amazing exhibit I love this guy's work. he ridicules us all. as we keep our pets in cages and eat animals in forms so processed by technology that they are no longer forms of life...
not much going on on the Brandon front. He didn't fuck up yesterday. sorry everyone.
bolted up to 59th and central park manimal style with AT and PC.
did a lap and some around central park.
went to the MET. wasnt really feeling the idea when it was brought up but once I got there and roamed around these works created by people ceturies ago. so amazing. checked out the Tang Dynasty collection. EPIC
after the met we came outside and found people gathering around our bike pile taking pics and generally admiring our work. I spoke to some conasuers asking for the name of the piece. to which nicole replied its called the "A Delicious Bicycle Sunday with a Bicycle on top" the asking price would be double the sum of the whole of the parts.
blasted down 5th ave. to 34th and 7th to hook up with LahRR VLAD and Clutch. our group was growing to about 15 at this point.
AT got propositioned by another man and politely turned down a "free bj"
We anihilated 7th from there to Canal st. and hit up the Chinatown area for some grub. we had all kinds of drama with choosing a spot. between vegan and open and then we finally settled on a spot and started locking up when someone noticed a pro-McCain ad in the window.... we decided to protest their business and go across the street. after locking our bike pile up we went inside - only to find more prop Mc Cain ads.... wtf is going on? fuck it. we sat down. ate. rolled it back to queens.
today is
BIKE KILL
and we're already really late and people are still painting themselves....
BIKE KILL was fucking EPICLY EPIC. Everything you thought it was plus more trash and a foam penis. Think football, rain and some bikes and shit. and more shit and some fire and lots of beer cans. and glass. i have a bunch of flicks and video.
Brandon update: ups and downs!
At bike kill things were lookin up after a drastic down for Brandon as his bike got stolen! The up came a lil later when he got cornered by a hot new york bike betty to watch old episodes of BJ ad the Bear on his youtube. Minutes later he was back on track getting straight up robbed for his cash while attempting to hail a cab.
It began poouring rain by the end of th night. Midnight Ridazz repped well in the bike jousting tournament. Richie and Tal both winning their jousts. we rolled back in the rain completely drenched by the time we got back to HQ.
o yes.
that ankle is the really real.
everyone had the best time of their past and future lives.
that dude was having the best time of his life even into the total partial removal of foot to ankle.
i napped and everyone came back from the best funderstorm show that never happened. now i am still working on my 40.
brand is knocked out like he does.
michele is on her way out in a few hrs.
marcus is waiting for mixte.
all is love.
people are snuggling with bike dreams from the best excitement that we helped conduce.
Yes guise, that foot really is broken. Do not fuck around with those gnarly-looking NY bike punks. I was pretty concerned when the same guy that did it took down Marcus in the mosh pit at the after-party, but me and some other guy were able to pull him off right away and after a second "hug" and some punches he got a clue and went somewhere else.
PS - Does anyone know what the other accident was? Mike Dee (it was pretty awesome meeting him) said the ambulance service was like "we've been called here twice already, please shut this event down." Haha, safety third!
yeah Mike D the famous nyc messenger not mike d from the beatsie boys... Got to meet and kick it with him on friday night and smoke at his crib. Had no idea he is a famous ny messenger.
Funderstorm had some technical difficulties with their beat machine last night at the chicken hut. They recruited beat boxers from the crowd to provide the backup sounds.
I uploaded about 16 of my photos from Bike Kill. I left out the absolute best, plus another 90 or so (of 1000) which are awesome. This is only a taste - I'll post it all around 11/10 - after I get back and have time to process them.
Also - Roadblock and Meghan may have snapped some of those . . . I just can't figure out which ones (definitely one of them snapped the photo of my mug.)
Yesterday we rode to coney island. Found another park with a bike and ped lane that was so much fun to ride. Felt like another central park adventure.... we rolled the dedicated bike path straight down to coney. Rode along the boardwalk. It was the last day of the season and nearing close. We had a beer and some laughs then it was on to the subway to johns pizza in manhattan. GREAT pizza. Nice waitress. Cash only. Ftw.
Moondance got doored. Wow. I get so bummed about these things.... she will be ok. But might get a scar.
So now were here at the airport.
Enjoying some tall tap beers with Dak coecoe and Stephanie before we roll out on the plane home. They have lcd screens (on mute thank god) showing sports, ufc and cnn. 8 days left on the election. Saw some kind of blip about an obama attack hoax???
Anyway, what an escape for the last 5 days...... going to be hard to get back to normal.... wolfpack tonight....
Manhattan traffic is ruthless but controlled. They will work with you if you signal them. I bet they aren't used to courteous ridazz.... ha.
Loved crushing central park with AT PC and Brand2 and everyone.
The view last night at 12:30pm central park reservoir...... wow.
the 7 of us decided to head home nathan coecoe and brand2 on the subway and me running back up the stairs to catch up to dak b-rad and stephanie and laharr. To my pleasant surprise they were stil there. I was so happy. And they were eating pizza! Not only that B-rad had a stack of slices!! Yeeesss! I started chomping on one before I got the whole story. These pizzas were from the trash?! Ok ok remain calm.... old pizza from pizza joint can't be that bad..... wait.. Wha? It wasn't in a bag?! The bare naked pizza slices had been touching the remains in the trash... which didn't look terrible, but it couldn't have been good..... yuck. Washed it down wirh some beers. Brad was completely stoked on his come up though.
We rolled over the queensboro bridge. Amazing view once again. A ride through brooklyn at 2am on a sunday is very quiet and peaceful. It wasn't cold much because we were riding....
You see soooooo fuckin much about a city while riding a bike. Its perfect. You aren't as involved as a walker which you kind of don't want to be too involved you just want to take in the scenes and the smells and sounds of dense new york.
OH MY GAWD YOU GUISE WERE AT MY OLD HOUSE!!!!! MY OLD BL:OCK!!!! MY OLD STOMP GROUNDS!!!!!! FUCK!!!!!! Even though I was there last month, I miss it like the dickens.
Fuck - did you see my stickers on the fridge? I"M SO JEALOUS!!!!!!
RB - if you see Mike D again - please tell him I'm sending huge hugs.
that's Johnny Coast in the photo of the broken foot. He's a emt and builds amazingly beautiful bikes. I'd recognize that hair anywhere!
Just got off the phone with Mike D - reading about him made me miss him so much!! He said you guys were fun and that some ridazz girl was riding on the wooden high wheel bike that Greg (head chicken hutter) built!! so who was it???
working on getting Mike out here for something around Jan... anything crazy bike planned for then??
Landing at JFK, I ran through my terminal, then two more, until I saw the backs of precious heads I've longed to see for so long: , Nicole, Brandon, Nikki, and Roadblock at baggage claim.
Franz redeemed himself of anything you might ever have been annoyed about by setting up and managing the payment of HQ. As for the maintenance and clean-up...we'll see. I can't imagine what happened after I, the self-appointed trash and recycle lady, left on Sunday. I really doubt they'll get the safety deposit back. 20+ridazz+f.u.n can do serious damage. It was perfect, though. Thanks for the endless lack-of-slumber party.
I may not have been the best NYC guide ever, but I was humbled and honored to do what I could to get around town for some of the happiest moments I've ever spent in the city. Thanks for bearing with me and trusting me to get you there!
Thanks everyone for being such rad Colors at the Project. (Anyone else, check us out at colorsproject.com. Ridazz in the Oct 23 episode.) That's my excuse to start bringing way more paint to get you.
I've never enjoyed Central Park, pizza, the subway, Times Square, or the bodegas more.
I've never been less bothered to not sleep or eat much for days on end.
I've never been prouder of L.A. than at BIKE KILL.
NYC bike kill folks were much more fun than I expected, and I adored the Texas Skidmarxx, but I could cry right now at how much love the LA ridazz made that day.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for making this happen!
Special thanks to Joe Borfo, for making me go, and for your support; I tried to make you proud, and did my best den big sister impression.
I can hardly wait to have us all back together again in L.A. (I think I'll be back on Wednesday!) Then, when we're ready, there's no one I'd rather travel with than any of you folks, who came, or wanted to, or that I haven't met yet.
You all might not believe this, but that creepy yellow character in the first one is PC! Nicole, Nikki, B-rad, and Marcus are all in there, too, along with my friend Julian. The group shot has the rest of us, but I know it's small. Franz took photos. Hopefully he'll post them someday.
Highlights so far: freaking the Colors Project on cable TV (you can't wait to see the video!), late night vegan takeout, being robbed and killed at Ridazz HQ, manimal laps at the park, Museum Day where we visited exactly one museum in the entire day, Chill Chinatown Mosey NYC with Christmas in October, muff diving at Bike Kill, Funderstorm turning adversity into art at the Bike Kill afterparty, and getting constantly massively lost all over New York City.
Lowlights: oblivious pedestrians, right-hooking vehicles, getting stabbed by a freak bike at Bike Kill, waiting four hours to get treated at Woodruff Hospital and missing the Coney Island ride.
Meghan and I are back in L.A., alive and well. I'll be going through the photos soon and post to flickr with an accompanying blog post in the next week or two. What a whirlwind weekend.

Oh man... cereally guys, I woke up this morning hoping to still be in NY with the ridazz fam.
Williamsburg bar crawl ride with B-Rad, Brandon, Franz, Kieron and Victoria yesterday. We hit like 2 bars in 8 hours, hooray for procrastination! Yesterday was soaking wet, the rain is still going. Brandon is on a plane to Amsterdam. I think pretty much everyone that's left in NY is sticking around this week.
I think everyone should give a special big giant thankuddle puddle to FRANZ for hooking up that spot and dealing with all the money issues a nd making it happen.... Thanks FRANZ!
Inner thigh. I was trying to ride this multi-wheeled contraption and I was thrusting it forward to try to get it rolling, and I lost my balance and fell off. On the way down, the inner thigh of my left leg got hung up on a sharp protruding dropout (!) on one of the forks of this "bike." It jabbed into my leg at least an inch deep. The next day at the hospital I showed the puncture wound to the triage nurse and she said "Oh God, cover that up!" and sent me to Trauma. The doc who dressed it and gave me my tetanus shot said that I lost some skin and will have a cool scar later. The end.
Can we please hear more about Richie and The Black Label dudes. I saw that movie about them and their Tall Bike Jousting. This home court loss must be pretty hard for them to take.
I take kind of a while to go through all my photos, but slowly more images from the trip will trickle onto my flickr account over the coming week. Here is Marcus carving out his bear suit, that later become a soggy brown mass of strange odors.
Brad and Marcus....I'm glad you guys made good use of the wool Jerseys. Those jerseys made it all the way from my old house to NYC on your bikes!! Seeing those pictures is like seeing traveling garden gnome pictures!! Wish I could be there this weekend, but I'm on an island off of the coast of Florida!
OMGawd. I totally LOVE seeing the mashup of my LA peeps in NY with my NY peeps!!! it's so awesome seeing photo's of you guys all across the street from where I used to live and in the building I used to live at and with the NY peeps I love and on my friends photo blogs etc...
here's a link to my friend Kevin's photo's over at Demoncats.com.. there's some rad ones of LA peeps in there...
ALSO - there's a Bike Kill photo on DLISTED!!! and Megan is in the background I think!!!!
mook, i used one of your photos for facebook.
thank you for capturing that moment.
soo so good.
ATwrecks, you def have some classics as well.
wish i could contribute...my amazing camera with amazing photos is m.i.a. -stolen on the flight home.
(p.s. along with my phone, in case people were wondering about my silence)
That's it, I'm not messing around anymore. I put up 3 more, but from here on out photos are gonna go up fast and furious. Then I'll drop em like a sledgehammer, and your heads will burst open and spill fun everywhere. Disgusto - put it on my face!
Somebody picked up a camera as we were leaving Bike Kill with photos of LA people on it. I think B-Rad has it now. So clutch, if you think you might have lost your camera before the flight, then maybe it's not lost after all. Or if anyone else lost their camera at Bike Kill, speak up!
I THINK THATS MY CAMERA!
I THOUGHTED I HAD LOSTED IT!!>????
MAYBE???
there is def a pic of gary standing up on the fence taking pictures, one of vspangle being awesome and smiley, prolly a long arm shot of me victoria and suzy, and people riding the awezum freak your shit bikes....
Probably B-Rad, possibly Marcus. Whoever's "in charge" of thefunisback@gmail.com emailed me thinking it was mine, probably because I was originally going to be the one to pick it up in Newark and bring it back to LA. Long story, but anyway, someone in Funderstorm has a camera, hopefully the camera.
BTW - those wheatpasted wolves up there is my friend Gaia, a street artist from NY now based in B-more... he was here in LA last month and we put up a GIANT bunny on traction downtown... go check it out, it's awesome... he's also the one who put up the piece of the girl with antlers and tiny hands on the side of O20...
also, any more fotos of my door incident floating around?
im gonna put together a schweet foto album of all the stuff, esp now that i have plastic surgery on my chinny chin chin.
synthetic!
I haven't put up any photos from NYC yet, but I do have a few from the crash. If you want the full-size photos, Hanako, let me know and I'll email 'em. That dude's door probably needs some plastic surgery, too.
I'm going to be in NY later next week. A friend and I are planning to do a century on the 9W in Jersey. I too will follow the fine example of K and get myself a crepe from across the street.
