red light should be "yield" lights for bikers.
Good luck getting that one past City Hall.

The only reds I'll stay at are big intersections. Small one's I'll do that "I'll pretend to make a right here but end up going straight" thing. I'm confident w/ a group.... now.. I've got to find those magnets.

Listen. It really is this simple:
If a sensor doesn't trip for your bike, it's defective. Report it. In the meantime, if you're trying to be legal, treat it as a stop sign. You're not legally obligated to sit all night waiting for a defective signal to flip

I've seen these powerful magnets for sale at the TRW swap meet in Manhattan Beach. The swap meet goes off every month. They advertise that it's for ham radio operators, but it's far more than that. I always get my batteries there. Best place I found for rechargeable batteries for my lights.

From Overheard in New York:
Angry guy in crosswalk: You should get a ticket!
Yielding cyclist, seemingly sincere: I love you!
Angry guy, passing: You should get a ticket!
Cyclist, pedaling off: I love you!
Angry guy, sheepishly: Thank you.
You think this'll work at Critical Mass?

I've read about them for use on motorcycles, I've thought about them for bikes, but since I rarely stop quickly forgot about it.

Wouldnt this be the greatest on big rides... if all bikes had this magnet on.... there would be no more need for corkers.
Less Accidents!!!!!!!!!!

That's a really good point. The guys would have to roll a bit a head of the pack. So we would be hitting greens when we start to roll through. I'll be getting me one of these magnets and start experimenting with it. I have one now that may work, I can start with that.

No body loves red lights. Just wait and wait. Green lights best. One way traffic.
