well im building my first track bike and im looking to buy the crankset and i hear so much about weight, stiffness, style, and quality of bearings.... i was looking at the SRAM-S300, SRAM OMNIUM, and FSA CARBON TRACK ISIS. Do you have any suggestions on which is better and if there is something out there that is even better while being in the same 2-300 dollar price range?

If you are gonna use it for the track and only the track get the FSA Carbon. If you gonna ride it in the street get the Omniums. They are really good.

lies! get the Omnium. that FSA carbon crank is bullshit. way too flexy for most track racers.

and hopefully your Fuji Track Pro is not one of the fucked up ones where every other crankset hits the chainstay so you're stuck with the stock crank.

I read something about the FSA having an adjustable Bottom Bracket....would that solve the problem your talking about with the fucked up Fuji Track Pros? and how do i find out if its one of the fucked up ones? i bought it brand new from a bike shop and they didnt say anything...haha damn got me trippin out.

i've never heard of an adjustable bottom bracket although FSA recently announced a system that allows you to use the same axel in different sized shells. that's all roadie stuff though.
the problem with the defective 2009 FTP's is that they shortened the chain stays but they didn't adjust the curve to accomodate cranksets with a narrower q-factor. they came stock with the FSA carbon crank so that'll work if you have a defective frame. i also heard that you can't run any chainring larger than 44 teeth but i don't know if there's any truth to that.
if you got a SUPER AWESOME deal on the frame, there's a good chance that you have on of the defective ones. but don't worry, it's still a bike frame and it should work alright. the only real defect is that you can't actually choose what crankset you want to put on there.
hope it works out for ya.

This is all correct. I know a dude who got the 09 FTP frame put Omniums on and they snapped 2 days into him riding it. Yup the crank arm snapped right off and they didnt replace it but he sold the FTP shortly after because of that.

Hey thanks for all that info! i ended up calling Fuji Corporate Office and asked them about what my options are and they pretty much told me the same thing. The FSA clears but other cranks with a higher tooth count then 44 wont clear. The second generation FTP is the model that can use any crankset. There are some modifications i can make with spacers and shit but that can get to technical. So guess im just gonna get the FSA crank.
Thanks again!
