Thanx Brad. I'll put out more official hype later, but for now just know this will be a fun RIDE. Emphasis on the RIDE. I promise not too fast, not too long, and not too steep, but I'm not planning on any way out Rave type stops. I will leave that to the professionals who are better at that than me. This will be a throwback type 2nd Friday ride with well spaced stops and cool scenery. Just relax and let me put it out there in due time.
Nuthin wrong with way out Rave type stops. Just not my forte. Shoutout to my Westsidazz I can't wait til I get a chance to roll on the next Mosey, or whatever the FUNarchists put out...
Thanx Brad, hey you wanna do my spokecards too? Jk
Yeah I'm hard at work on this one. The route may be altered during the ride to accomodate whoever shows up, ie Freakbikes, new ppl, etc. but the main stops will remain. A few gradual hills in the beginning, tho nuthin steep, with a stop or two before a long downhill set, another stop and then flatness. Definitely gonna keep a cool pace, but for the rocket legged racers I will provide direx so they can blast off ahead and let the party catch up.
Really looking forward to all of this!

Hey evrybody, the ride is comin up soon. Take a disco nap before, have a good meal, pack yer supplies, and bring yer riding legs. I'm gonna make evry effort to keep it slow to conserve energy, but we will be rolling about 30 miles. If yer trying to decide which bike to bring, make sure it has brakes cuz there are some loooong downhil stretches. Also make sure it can go up a hill or 2. We'll be going slow enuff to walk up any hills that mite need that tactic, and not too fast on the flats either so we can all stay together.
The first stop will be the furthest distance between stops, and very close to sundries and stuff. The second will be slightly above the first, with no amenities beyond water fountains and bathrooms. The third probly wont have much more than the second, but it's possible a store or 2 nearby mite still be open, depending on the hour.
This will be a real ride. If yer reading this on MR, and have been riding a while, you can handle it!
yeaaaaaaa! excited for tonight
I have no idea when the ride description was posted but good thing i read it yesterday- made it in time to the library to snag a couple of books with nothing but knock-knock jokes

a bit of trivia about Mcarthur Park (start point of the ride)
from RollingStone.com:
The bridge that inspired Red Hot Chili Peppers' classic hit "Under the Bridge" is located in Los Angeles' MacArthur Park, Vulture reports.
Writer Mark Haskell Smith used clues provided by Anthony Kiedis in interviews and his memoir, Scar Tissue, to determine the bridge in question. In 1992 Kiedis told Rolling Stone that the bridge was in downtown Los Angeles, but he insisted that "it's unimportant. I don't want people looking for it." In his book, Kiedis wrote about the rock-bottom period that inspired the song, and noted that he would often walk to Sixth and Union Street in downtown L.A. from his friend Kim Jones' house.
Smith ruled out several bridges in this area before determining that it is most likely that the singer was referring to a small pedestrian tunnel underneath Wilshire Boulevard cutting through MacArthur Park, which was a major drug spot in the late Eighties. Smith shared a photo of the bridge as it is today in broad daylight. It doesn't look particularly seedy, but it's not too hard to picture it in a more grim period of the park's history.
Tallcans4tallbikes, will there be some steep uphills? My triple decker is only a single speed and as heavy as a boat anchor. Steep hills are tough for me. Let me know the pace and or route and if we are finishing up where we started because I will be driving to the starting location.
Sean, bring yer Tallbike. Tallcans will be rolling his, and it's pretty burly. The route is longish, but very slow. If u need to walk it up a hill, none of them are very long. And yes, route slips will be at the start of the ride. But they mite go qwick so dont lag it to the start.
Thnx for the compliments Borfo!

Yes as it sez in the ride's original posting, we are ending at the start of the ride; at Macarthur Park. Think of it as one long crazy bike ride along a Mobious Strip in LA!
In case yall were wondering, we'll be starting at the Southwest corner of Macarthur Park, at Park View and 7th st. Feel free to spread that on facebook too...
Something happened right before I was about to leave and I didnt make it out. Im kinda bummed because I figured this would be awesome and I know it was..... smh.
Thanx for all the kind words evrybody, and to all the Ridazz who attended, thanx for makin my dreams come true. I will definitely lead some more rides in the future, just have to find a spot on the calendar. This thing practically ran itself, evryone was able to hang, and we had no craziness with cars or cops. Def looking forward to the next one.
Ps thanx to my Director of Public Relations, Miss Rosie Squirrel Scout for handling all the facebook traffic, much appreciated. Also thanx to Brad for posting it there too. Dont jack my spots Brad :P haha
