I just googled Ghost bikes.....and dammmm..this just makes me sad...i mean ive seen one or two before but to see so many cyclist killed makes me sad and angry.I collected over 75 pics...in 20minutes.I looked in here and i couldnt find any thread dedicated to our fallen riders...but then again who who want to post..R.I.P. to all.
i've seen one at the corner of Le Brea and Fountain.. really scary.. I used to pass it everyday and got me thinking all the time, that could of been me..
please be safe everyone.. and wear a damn helmet..

these are all the names just in the usa.im sure theres way more out there.Crazy New York had the most ghost bikes,like 30 percent of this list are NY riders.
I don't know if NY is necessarily any more dangerous than LA, though I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it was. In my limited experience riding there, it seemed way safer than here, but that may just have been due to the (relatively recent) network of bike lanes. I think the main reason that there are so many NY riders in the list is that ghostbikes.org is run by a group in NYC, and thus people there are more aware of the site.
Fun fact: The ghost bike idea was actually started in St. Louis by Patrick VDT, but as with all good ideas, NYC adopted it and acted like it was theirs to begin with. Also, incidentally, the blur walking into the frame in this photo is Mr. VDT himself.
